Matt Ryan, the service director, is absolutely outstanding. He took personal responsibility for making sure my issues were taken care of. He went above and beyond in all respects. Based on my experience I will not take my Subaru anywhere else for service.

Great salesman David Gardner!

David Gardner is very knowledgeable about the product he is selling. He has a big personality! He made me feel very comfortable. David answered all of my questions. On the day I picked up my new car, David made a special trip in just for me. He had that day off. Talk about being a great guy! Love David. He is definitely a people person. Planet Subaru is Lucky to have him as an employee!

Best car buying experiance ever

I have purchased many new cars for many dealerships over the last 50 years and this was my best experience ever. Planet S ubaru's slogan (the undealership) sums it up succinctly -- none of the usual dealership nonsense ( I have to check upstairs, what do you really want to pay, pushing features and dealer adds you really don't want, etc), just a very quick and simple "which model, trim and accessories do you want?" and" here is what I can offer for a price." Same experience on the trade-in credit -- essentially matches both KBB and Edmonds within a few bucks. I chose them because of the many raving reviews and even though they were forty miles away from my home I tried them out over the many dealerships that were much closer to my home just outside of Boston. I was not disappointed, would recommend this dealership most highly and would use them again for whatever Subaru I or my wife might purchase next.

Not A Fair Deal

"A couple of weeks ago I found out that Planet Subaru will buy quality used cars, so I called the persons listed at the dealership web site. I had a 2008 Ford Ranger Sport in excellent condition, and very low mileage for that year (54,000 miles). As a result of my call, a very nice gentleman from Plant Subaru came out to my house to look at the vehicle. After looking up the vehicle's supposed value at one of the web's car sites (Car Gurus or Kelly Blue Book), he offered me 5000 dollars for my Ranger. I accepted that deal on good faith that the info he looked up on the web was fair. They wrote me out a check, and took the Ranger that day. Today, while looking at Planet Subaru web site, I saw my Ranger listed for sale at 11,998 dollars... a mark up of 6000 dollars over or more than double what they paid me for the Ranger. I know that dealers have to make a profit, but I now feel that I was low-balled by Planet when they bought my vehicle. I also know that they will probably sell it for less, but the initial mark up gives me the feeling that not everything is on the up and up with their pricing! Not a happy camper,

Service dept incompetent

Bought an outback in 2014, fairly easy process got a good deal. I'm not sure I like my car now after 4 years because it doesn't run very smooth (only 30K miles on it and it garaged almost all the time). Service very expensive but that's the nature of the beast, but costly service shoudl be good service, right? Had almost 1000 bucks put in last interval: brakes, 2 tires, oil, alignment, and some sort of update for cold start problems. 1. Before brake job breaks seemed to be fine...now they squeal. 2, Alignment did not align the car, still drifted and steering wheel not centered. Went back and they were nice enough to re-do the alignment...or did they? Drove away and the car still drifted and the steering wheel not aligned. 3. Today is the first brisk day of the season, in the 40s...car wouldn't start. I don't know what they "updated". My instinct is to go back...again, but would they do anything? 1000 dollars and a two tires and new oil. what's more I got a survey from SUBARU itself asking a bunch of ? about the dealership, one was "did the service advisor go over with you what they did?" No. I have no idea who even worked on it, ladies at the front desk take the key and do billing. Very nice people though. So. no more Planet Subaru service for me, too much money for little results. When the car is paid off I'll try to stick with it for a year to enjoy no car payments then get another make. Thinking Volvo.

An absolutely brilliant experience ….

Oh yes - and the Subaru is pretty fab also ;) I have never bought a new car in the US but I have been well aware of the challenges and mythology surrounding said endeavor — all of which were quickly confirmed the instant I was pushed through the front doors of two Subaru dealerships - So a couple of weeks ago we broke free from the gravitational pull of the “Atlantic nebula”, took a wide birth around and away from the blackhole better known as the “Quirk-effect” and plotted a course to Planet Subaru. Planet Subaru - It is obvious to us that you value both your employees and customers. Everyone we met in the sales Debt, Dave in finance, the service desk and the customers by the coffee machine … where all simply smiling - chatty and relaxed, and from our perspective that is all that was required. Dale - Beth and I are so pleased with having met and worked Derek and Milo - intelligent, funny, patient, knowledgable and a great sense of asking the right question and the right time ……… and that was just Milo ! Both Derek and Milo are indeed assets to your company. My only complaint is the ridiculous long services intervals as 6000 miles is way too long to wait to drive up to Planet and absorb some more of your positive and relaxed energy. I will be up sooner than my scheduled service decrees - no doubt ! I am not sure what you raison d’être is but … “bloody well done" and keep at it ! Kindest regards and heartfelt thanks. More and more the high pressure bulldog sales dealerships are fading, Planet is already out in front of it, it's like you're in somebody's livingroom talking, no fear of pouncing salesman! Very classy operation. Couldn't be happier with our salesman, Fred DiFronzo and the rest of the staff.

I want to take this opportunity to compliment and recognize two of the extraordinary members of the service team at Planet Subaru: Andy Ryan I have had a number of positive interactions with Andy over the last couple years and every time I come into the undealership he greets me by name and with a warm smile. He is such a pleasure to interact with and one of the many reasons I continue to service my vehicle at Planet. I have never met a more genuine team of service professionals in my life and Andy is a shining example of this. This morning’s visit to Planet was another example of Andy welcoming me to Planet regardless of whether he will be coordinating my vehicle’s service for the day. I really appreciate that and feel so valued for my business with Planet. He is a true gentleman! Allie Webb Allie welcomed me into the undealership this morning for my scheduled 60,000 mile service. She was, as she always is, very welcoming and friendly. I always feel like I am leaving my car in very capable hands. Allie takes the time to clearly explain the details of the service and makes sure I am fully aware of every important detail. Later this morning she contacted me to advise that my driver’s side front tire should be replaced due to a puncture on the sidewall that I was unaware of. She suggested that an alignment be completed as well with the replacement of the tire and also provided a clear service recommendation for fuel injection service. I was so impressed by how knowledgeable Allie was and how accommodating she was with the use of the Passport loaner vehicle. Since purchasing our 2015 Subaru Outback, I have been a fan of Planet Subaru. From Sales to Service, my wife and I have been treated like a valued part of the Planet Subaru family. It is because of the unprecedented level of service from people like Andy and Allie, that we will continue to service our vehicle at Planet and plan to purchase many more Planet Subaru vehicles in the future.

Best car buying experience I've ever had. There was a communication issue between the dealership and Subaru USA which cost Planet Subaru about $3500. Other dealerships simply would have abandoned the sale or passed the $3500 on to the customer, but Planet ate the difference. Very impressed with their integrity and customer service focus.

While I didn't buy a car from them (I live in PA, 365 miles away) I found their website extremely informative. I am researching Subarus and the amount of information Plant Subaru provides on its site is absolutely amazing. I learned a great deal that helped me decide which model I wanted (Forester). I wish I lived closer - I'd buy from them in a heartbeat! Based on their website alone I give them 5 stars! I can't imagine how good the actual visit must be.

Purchase of 2017 Outback

Planet Subaru was very helpful in the purchase of my Certified Pre-Owned Outback. I first found out about Planet Subaru while searching car reviews on YouTube. The videos they made were very informative. I went to the Planet Subaru website and it was packed full of information. Most of the Subaru sites were identical to each other but Planet’s stood out as much more informative. They had comparisons of non-Subaru vehicles. I was surprised that the comparisons showed all of the data that it did even if the non-Subaru vehicle had more leg room or better fuel mileage. The comparisons seemed honest & did not omit something to make one model better than the other. It saved me a lot of time comparing manuals and vehicle specifications. When I called them, even though I live in California they took the time to answer my questions. I live in California and a dealership in Massachusetts helped me to decide on the purchase of my 2017 Outback.

My husband and I bought a home and needed a vehicle that was large enough for us, a German Shepherd and two cats to drive cross country. After looking at many different SUVS, we decided the Subaru Outback was perfect for our needs. We went to Planet Subaru in Hanover MA and we were pleasantly surprised by the warm greeting from one of their employees and two dogs which we thought was great. We were then introduced to our salesman Joe. He sat down with us and listened to our needs. We were not only looking for a safe, efficient and comforting vehicle, we wanted a fair price. I believe that a fair price is one that is not only good for us but for the dealership. Our salesman Joe showed us a Subaru Outback that was in the showroom which my husband and I were already drawn to. After looking over the vehicle, my husband went on a test drive with Joe. I decided to stay back and look at their huge amount of inventory. We wanted a certain color and features that were important to us. We wanted convenience features such as comfortable seats that were power adjustable, features that were ergonomically designed, a good stereo system, enough room for our long cross country trip with our pets and enough room that we didn't feel crammed. The Outback we decided on had everything we wanted in a new SUV. We wanted an outstanding AWD system as we were moving to the Northwest where weather and road conditions were different than Massachusetts. We were very pleased with our experience at Planet Subaru. Our salesman Joe and our finance manager Scott listened to our wants and needs and never were pushy. We were grateful for all of the effort Scott put in to get us a low interest rate and a preowned certification. We drove cross country and we were very pleased with the performance, comfort and safety features. We both are very satisfied with our experience at Planet Subaru. One of the biggest things that made us buy from them was their approach to a vehicle buying process. We never felt that anyone was pushy with us or made us feel like if we didn't buy the Outback that day, we weren't going to get the same deal. I hope this review will help others with their decision to purchase their next vehicle from a Planet Subaru.

Another great experience

Planet Subaru radio commercials hooked us in last year and my husband's wonderful buying experience made us return when I started looking for a car. For this second time we again received exemplary customer service from a staff that is a total 180 from the dreaded pressured car sales pitches. The norm at Planet Subaru in Hanover is respect for the customer, total honesty, and a true desire to find the car that suits your needs. We worked with Derek and found him to be extremely knowledgeable, very easy to talk to and able to suggest a variety of buying options. I am a former purchaser of Toyotas and most recently a Honda CRV but I would never go back based on this enjoyable shopping experience. I never thought that I would call buying a car "enjoyable" but this was!

Sirs; My wife and I have had two meetings with MS Blaauboer recently in our quest to find and buy a new car. I am delighted to report that Ms Blaauboer is hands down the most knowledgeable car sales person we have ever encountered. I am a very technical person; every question I asked was answered correctly and with lots of other pertinent information. Her personality and great knowledge do you dealership a huge service. After our previous visit to Planet Subaru I tried to call you folks several times but never got past the sales desk. Worth the trip from the Cape!

From the first e-mail response to my initial inquiry to the test drive and then to the final delivery of my new vehicle, I was treated with courtesy, respect and professionalism. My questions and concerns were addressed promptly and honestly. The vehicle itself is a perfect fit for my needs. I generally hate the car buying process, but the no-pressure staff at Planet Subaru made the experience pleasant and rewarding.

amazing visit

I went to planet looking into the WRX. I was greeted at the door by Klaire. She was so warm and easy to talk with. I didnt make and appointment, I just walked in randomly. We discussed options and what i was looking for in the car. We settled on looking at the 2018 wrx premium. You can tell by the way Klaire talks about the wrx that she truly loves and respects the car. She stands behind Subaru and she made me more confident in purchasing one. I had not driven manual in about 8 years and she was patient and let me drive around the parking lot for a bit before i was comfortable enough to hit the streets. Not once during the whole visit did she try and sell me on something else. Everyone there at planet are amazing, however if you want to be treated right and make sure you're getting everything out of your subaru go and see Klaire she's the best.
