What a difference new owners make!

By MK on 8/4/2018 at 11:23 PM. Helped by Garrett.

I had previously been unsatisfied with Porsche SD service department and swore to never go back. Fortunately, I was in a situation where I had no choice but to use their service department. What a difference! They have apparently been bought out by a company that has very high standards as I would expect for a high end dealership. I was able to meet Garrett, the technician that worked on my car. He was polite and knowledgeable. The car was fixed right the first time and now I won't let anyone other than Garrett work on my car. What a pleasant surprise! Porche SD has my business again!

I would recommend this dealer.

Porsche SD Missed Opportunity & Lifetime Client

By TMJ2011 on 6/5/2018 at 9:44 PM. Helped by Michael Uchitel.

Here's the email that was sent to the GM, Shawn Evans: We first visited your dealership the first weekend of May where we were greeted by one of your sales professionals, Michael Uchitel. We had an entertaining and informative conversation with Michael, ultimately ending with him sharing his contact information along with a request for us to contact him with a Porsche build code of what we were looking for (our ideal Porsche) and then we would set up some time with him to drive several of different variations of the 911s you had on your lot in hopes of settling on the perfect model. We were also interested in driving a Macan GTS, not available on your lot, so Mr. Ulchitel graciously offered to bring his Macan GTS into the dealership for me to drive on the day we test drove the 911s. Mr. Ulchitel suggested we give him notice and come on a weekday, in the early afternoon, when it was less busy at your dealership and this would give him an opportunity to get the Porsches warmed up and ready for their test drives. After much texting, bantering back and forth, we mutually agreed on Friday, May 11th @ 2 pm. We arrived at your dealership promptly, around 1:45 pm, so we browsed around and sipped on our bottled waters one of your salespeople offered us until we were hoping to be met by Mr. Ulchitel, who was currently tending to another client when we arrived but looked over at us, visually acknowledging our presence, and then continued with his clients. We continued to wait near Mr. Ulchitel's cubicle in an effort to ensure he could see us when 2 o'clock rolled around.... then 2:15, then 2:30. At 2:45 we left your dealer not having spoken to Mr. Ulchitel once. He did not ever come by and greet us and let us know he would be with us shortly, sorry his other client engagement was running over, etc. nor was there any sign of cars being warmed up and ready for a test drive like he had spoken of. We started to question ourselves and look back at our text history wondering if maybe Mr. Ulchitel thought we were meeting the following Friday; looking to give him the benefit of the doubt. We never heard back from Mr. Ulchitel that day inquiring what happened to us or did we need to reschedule nor did we hear back from him the following Friday (in case he got the Fridays mixed up). We even came into the dealership one more time, where the only thing he said to us was, "Hey, I know you guys!" with no follow-up or acknowledgment of the history we had with him previously - just the generic, "let me know if I can help you with anything...". We honestly felt as though we had been fooled by your stereotypical used car salesperson, which is the last thing I'd expect from a high-end Porsche dealership, such as yours. Fast forward a few weeks and as a fellow Porsche ambassador and enthusiast, you will be excited to hear we are the proud new owners of an amazing 2018 Targa 4 GTS in Chalk, which we paid cash for, and have ordered a second Targa 4 GTS in Miami Blue that is due for delivery in Q4, just in time for the holidays from one of your fellow Porche dealerships in SD County. It is unfortunate that your dealership will not be our dealership of choice here in SD County, but wanted to share the above in the event it can be a learning opportunity for your team.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Do not go there!

By Daniel L. on 8/18/2017 at 6:44 PM. Helped by Mason.

Bigger showroom is NOT equal to better service. Our experience with the service department at this dealership does not match the Porsche standard. Should not have bought the GTS from them a few months earlier. Be ready to dump in minimum $1,000 for service in order to get the loaner car. Even though, it was requested the loaner two weeks ago upon confirming the appointment. Be careful with Mason, the service advisor, he can really hurt you as well as your wallet.

Nice dealership experience

By The Donald on 11/8/2016 at 1:21 AM.

They bought my 991 911 and gave me a fair price and the service from Javier and Brent was great. Both very nice. Have bought a number of cars from them over the years and always treated fairly. Wouldn't hesitate doing business again.

Best of the best !***** Pure class *****

By Msmith138 on 11/7/2016 at 5:43 AM. Helped by Todd Gross.

Words just won't do our experience justice. We went into another dealership looking at upgrading our current SUV and didn't like how we were treated so we stop by Porsche and needless to say from the amazing customer service to the great pricing we purchased a new SUV. My wife couldnt stop telling me how much she liked her new Porsche so we went back this last weekend and purchased one for me. From start to finish hands down the best car dealership, PERIOD! Glenn is top notch so is Todd and a high five to Mike for the assist ! If you are even thinking of a new car or SUV make sure you check out Porsche San Diego and go see Todd Gross - Tell him you saw this post so he and the team at Porsche know how thankful we are.

Rude, Contentious, & Unprofessional

By dar on 10/25/2016 at 5:37 PM. Helped by Jeff Kenyon.

I have been going to SD Porsche for 4 years. Today I was treated in the most rude and contentious manner by service advisor Jeff Kenyon. I made a general reference about my expensive car navigation to my phone. The communication was horrible after that. I was just making a general reference--not a complaint. But the conversation turned negative quickly. Jeff began to talk-down to me, which implied I was stupid. I immediately recognized the contentious attitude Jeff was giving me. I knew I needed to shut up or this guy wouldn't quit. I shut up and got out of there. Needless to say I have to go back and pick up my vehicle. I do not want to deal with this guy again.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Misleading and Unprofessional

By Al on 3/13/2016 at 5:28 PM. Helped by Arien Porter.

I went in after a month of negotiating with the salesman and agreeing on all the details of the deals. I live 90 miles away so I needed to make sure I don't waste a day on nothing. Unfortunately that's exactly what happened. They tried to pull some last minute tricks. I had everything agreed on and documented via written communication so there wasn't any room for "misunderstanding". The sales guy (his name is Arien), told me his boss wanted to discuss "other options" with me. That was after I filled the application and he ran my credit and confirmed that everything is "good to go". He introduced me to his boss who quickly turned out to be rude and manipulative. He wanted to discuss the residual as I am leasing. I told him I already discussed everything Arien. I also told him that I don't want to discuss other options. That's when he said: "then I'm afraid we can't do anything for you if you are not willing to answer a simple equation!". I was really thrown back by how rude and manipulative he was. I am used to car sales people using some cheesy tactics but they are usually diplomatic and somewhat polite about it as they don't want to loose the customer or severely damage the reputation of their business. This was the first time I encounter a sales manager who initiates hostility in such a rude and aggressive way! It literally took him less than 30 seconds to blow this thing off. I just said okay and walked out. I realized he was not worth my time. Minutes after I left I received a call from Arien telling me he "didn't know how things went wrong!". He didn't even have the courtesy to apologize! I told him he blew it. I asked him not to call me ever again and ended the call. A minute later, the manager of the dealership called and asked for 30 seconds to explain things. He blamed it on the sales people and told me he wanted to make things right even if it meant him loosing money on the car. I told him I will not be fooled twice. I asked him not to call me again and ended the call again. Both managers showed stubborn arrogance: one claimed I refuse a answer a simple question while in fact I told him I don't want to discuss other "options" he wanted to throw my way and instead stick to the agreement we already had. The other manager blow it by claiming he is willing to "loose money on the car just to make things right and make me happy!". Apparently, I don't need his pity and no one buys this nonsense about willing to loose money on a deal. We had an agreement and we both thought it's fair so trying to play victim was desperate and pathetic. Just like any other car buyer, I had my share of unpleasant experiences with sales people but this one was by far the worst. Completely misleading unprofessional.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Online Scam and bate and switch

By Mason D. on 12/18/2015 at 2:05 PM. Helped by Michael Gordon, Brent Howard, Shawn Evans, ang Glen Anderson.

Complete online scam. They bate and switched on me on a deal and try to scam me on additional $4000 after deal was done and after they ran my credit which is now negatively effect my score. My sales person Michael Gordon his manager Brent Haywood were involved in this bogus deal. I complained to the manager and 2 other General Managers Shawn Evans and Glen Anderson via an email and neither of them had the courtesy to call or respond to my complaint or the wrong that they had done on this. As such I believe this establishment from top down must condone such tactics and be on the scam. If you are online shopper for a vehicle do yourself a favor and stay clear of this site. Chances are you will get screwed last minute and they try to squeeze more out of you or send you the wrong car.

By Smitherman on 10/18/2015 at 6:22 AM. Helped by Arien Porter.

I had a great time talking to their knowledgeable staff. They were very accommodating and answered all of my questions and helped me find the best plan for me. I would highly recommend them, and my Sales Consultant was the best, Arien Porter made me feel comfortable and kept me informed about everything that was happening so that I could follow every step of the way. Jeff Dodds was also very helpful and even stayed late to help finish my sale. Thank you Arien and Jeff!

Joe went out of his way to be helpful

By gewgaw on 10/3/2015 at 7:05 PM.

I am very impressed with the caring attitude and follow-up by Joe Allis. He reached out several times while my husband was ill, just to check in. My husband had a car on order, so it wasn't as if they were trying to get a sale - it was simply a matter of someone who cares. Thank you!

Extra Real Estate on your lot!!

By TMCBrandt on 9/30/2015 at 5:47 PM. Helped by Arien Porter.

My wife and I have been searching for a Ford F250 Diesel for six months and knew when we found the right truck we would purchase it. We found one at your dealership and immediately went to look at it. Arien Porter greeted us upon arrival and began to show us the truck. His friendly, professional demeanor is recognized. We are not typical Porsche customers, we were buying a diesel truck, but we were treated with the up most respect throughout the process by all members of the San Diego Porsche Team. We had a toddler with us as well and everyone ensured she was comfortable, entertained and provided us snacks. We are now the proud owners of a beautiful, well maintained, and pristine Car Fax Ford F-250 Diesel Truck. Now you have a little extra space on your lot for a few more Porsche vehicles!! Thank you Porche of San Diego. ~The Brandt Family

Excellent service..

By wamiq_sattar on 8/28/2015 at 10:21 AM.

I have been going to there from the days when it used to be Pioneer Porsche. Porsche of SD has been very professional to me during each of my visits in the past. And I appreciate that. I also want to inform other Porsche owners that if you visit SF/Millvalley area then don"t take your car to Sonnen Porsche. I had a nightmare with that dealsrship. One of my Porsche was almost stolen by their ex-service manager, Richard R. To make long story short, I had to contact Ca DMV, Bureau of Automotives, Porsche of North America and State Attorney General's office to get my baby back, and was in partially stripped condition. At Porsche of SD, I received informative help from Les and Ray, on 2 different visits. They both were professional and treated me with courtesy.

2012 Carrera S - 30,000 mile service and sunroof repair

By Love My 991 S on 8/26/2015 at 9:50 PM.

Since I purchased my car from Porsche of SD I have had nothing but perfect service. I normally arrive at 7 am sharp before things get busy, and this time Ray was there to welcome me and get things processed and me into a loaner car in less than 20 minutes. Highly professional and courteous, and recognizing that you need to get in and out quickly, Ray also makes a point of using the phone (rare these days) to keep in contact and keep me updated on the status of my service work. He arranged for my car to be brought to my office when it was ready, and the loaner taken away. Convenience very hard to beat. I have found all the service staff at Porsche of SD to exhibit very professional, knowledgeable and courteous service, while always maintaining a hint of casualness and light humor, since, after all, driving Porsches is all about fun, isn't it? The quality of workmanship on my sunroof repair was perfect, with the technicians providing very thorough inspection and assessment.

Boxster Fluid Leak!!!

By Norman on 8/13/2015 at 7:59 PM.

Took my Boxster S into the San Diego dealer to have me leak investigated. My advisor Marcie Mernik was very attentive, provided a loaner vehicle, at set my mind at ease regarding the situation. Everyone in the service department, as well as the overall dealership were very professional, friendly, and concerned about my vehicle. In the end the mechanic assured me that the vehicle was not leaking any fluids and the situation was the result of a failure to cleanup around the oil pan during a previous oil change at another dealership. Great job by the staff at San Diego Porsche!!! Highly recommended.

I lost my radiator in our new Macan S on our recent trip to San Diego. I had the car towed into Porsche Sand Diego and met Ryan Breshears. The service I received in getting the repair timely accomplished before we had drive back to Phoenix was extraordinary. This was out of pocket, and I would say worth every penny.

great car, great dealer

By jhglaw on 6/2/2015 at 6:44 PM.

I bought my 2014 Cayman S from Pioneer Porsche. I placed a factory order to get exactly what I wanted. I placed my order before the 2014 cars were here. Julian made very good suggestions and tactfully insisted that I try some of the options on the new 911's. When the car arrived, the transaction went smoothly. I paid cash. I have the car serviced at Pioneer. Les Lisenbee is my service advisor. Les really knows the cars. Everyone I encounter bringing the car in for service, getting the Porsche loaner and picking up my car is genuinely friendly. Jim
