Car returned DIRTY!

By Jesus on 8/16/2017 at 4:45 PM. Helped by express service workers..

When I picked up my car after getting 4 new tires and an oil change, there was black grease on my driver side door inside. There was no care taken I can tell. The armrest was totally black and smudges everywhere. The driver door sill was black all over with grease also. The tires were not popped, I mean clean. Shoddy workmanship. I was very disappointed being this is a 5 star dealership. I think the workers are being pushed too hard. I hope they really did change my oil. Are they being treated well or do you have some bad workers? You should look into this. Everyone has always been pleasant there. I felt there was something wrong with the work environment. Sincerely a concerned customer.

I would recommend this dealer.

A great crew, and a bunch of fair and honest car guys.

By AUsedCarBuyer on 5/21/2017 at 10:40 PM. Helped by Pete M, Dave L, Bob K, Tim the finance guy!.

For the TL;DR (too long; didn't read) crowd: These guys are honest, fun, and best of all, fair. Go see them, really. I drove 6 hours from the MA/NH border to do a deal with Pete Moran (sales, and Tim, in financing, underbosses Kevin & Dave and head honcho, Bob Karstetter!) for a gently used Camaro Convertible. I'd contacted Pete earlier the previous week and decided to see if they were interested in doing a deal for the car. I was trading in a gently used car, and Pete seemed to think we could get something done. Now I know what you're thinking, cause I was thinking it too! They're going to lowball me for my car, all while telling me that price on the internet that got my attention was only if I'd qualified for this, that and some other thing. It's how all car salesman are, we all hate them but we deal with it because we want to get a 'new' (to us) car. So I did a bunch of research of cars similiar to mine around Porter Chevy and came up with what I thought was a fair number. Then I did a bunch of research about the Camaro they were selling and found that they're advertised price was also a very fair number. Now I mentally prepared myself for battle. I emailed Pete and told him my number for my car. Pete's reply? "Ok that's fair. We're also going to stand on the car's price as advertised." I was dumbfounded, really. Did we just do a deal in 2-3 emails? I agreed and Pete said he'd get me a purchase agreement in a day or so. As promised it arrived and I looked it over. "Aha!" I thought, they're trying to add in taxes for my state! And another "fee"! I called Pete up and prepared to do verbal battle and tell him I wasn't going to stand for this outrage! Kevin got on the phone and I explained to him these added "fees" and "taxes" weren't necessary... and he said "Ok, I'll take them off, our mistake." Wait. What? Turns out, they really weren't trying to screw me, dealing with an out of state transaction is a pain, especially with the state of MA. No "gotcha's", no added fees, just a bunch of real, honest guys, looking to do a fair deal. I cannot overstate how much fun I had talking to them. If they have something on the lot that you're interested in, go see Bob K's crew, I couldn't recommend them enough. In 30+ years of buying cars it was the most refreshing honest, and fun, experience I've ever had. Kudos to Porter Chevy, I'm a very, very satisfied customer.

I would recommend this dealer.

Excellent customer service

By Marian on 7/7/2016 at 12:05 AM. Helped by Randy McCloud.

Randy met us on the lot and was friendly and professional. I explained what I wanted and the color. He directed us to the Spark and was able to answer all our questions. I then said I did't like any of the colors on the lot. He stated no problem, "lets see what we can find". He was able to locate a electric blue Spark that was on its way to the dealership. He then asked if I wanted to test drive. Since it was raining, I declined and said would prefer it the next day. He said no problem and we made an appt. The next day, we met and I drove a Spark and decided to sign for the Electric Blue. I then met Tim, the financial guy, who also was friendly and knowledgeable and took good care if us. I would highly recommend Porter to my family and friends due to the professionalism and friendliness of Randy & Tim.

I would recommend this dealer.

Bad Car buying experience

By ACB1983 on 3/30/2016 at 11:08 PM. Helped by Sales and Management.

I bought a Chevy from them in 2001, it was an ok experience. My salesperson at the time Ken Perdue was excellent, but the managers were a nightmare to deal with. I was going to give them another chance to earn my business, however they were rude and unkind; they told me that I was not allowed on the premises (I guess due to my many visits to shop for cars or whatever) I would NOT recommend them to anyone. I would give these crooks a negative zero if I could. You just lost a customer and a sale. Porter Automotive should be called Crook Automotive, because that's what they are a bunch of low-life crooks who will never earn my business EVER!!!!! P.S. they do more for those were screwing the State System and with lower credit scores than mine, especially those who spend $1000 on sneakers, but don't pay their car notes or their rent vs. myself a student works his fingers to the bone. They need to be trained in Ethics and Empathy also

I would not recommend this dealer.

Had my non-starting Cobalt towed in for a new fuel pump....

By xyz9876abc on 9/16/2013 at 10:36 AM. Helped by Richard.

Had my non-starting Cobalt towed in for a new fuel pump. Well, it was running when i picked it up so I assumed they did a good job. However, 2 weeks later, it died when i was in another state 350 miles from home. Turns out the "new" fuel pump they installed had 0 pressure and the clips and connections in the gas tank that they were supposed to change as well, were disconnected, and the bracket clip around the fuel line was just dangling there, not tightened up. Very DANGEROUS situation, so if you value your life, DON'T chose Porter.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By muttofwonder on 8/3/2013 at 11:29 PM. Helped by Edward (Randy) Horsey.

I bought a used car from Porter Chevrolet and was disappointed when the car's check engine light came on less than 24 hours later. I had the vehicle checked out by a third party then contacted the dealership with all the issues that were discoverd. I was happy that the used car manager, Kevin, was willing to stand by the vehicle and help us resolve the issue. He expressed how important it was for every customer to walk away happy from the dealership. He helped me get the vehicle fixed satisfactory to my standards. Kevin was very professional and kind in dealing with me and my wife during a frustrating time. Greatly appreciated.

I would recommend this dealer.

By slukas on 5/17/2013 at 9:07 PM. Helped by Keith.

Had taken my car in to have a strange noise investigated. I had arranged to drop my car off on Wednesday evening for them to work on it on Thursday. I was shocked to receive a phone call Wednesday evening informing what the problem was and an estimate on the cost. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to pick up my car that the final cost was $30 less than the initial estimate.

I would recommend this dealer.

By mrector on 2/20/2013 at 4:46 PM. Helped by RICH KERR.

I drive a 2008 Buick Lucerne. I did not buy the car at this dealership. There service department is second to none. I have been using there service department since I bought the car. Rich Kerr a service advisor was assigned to my car. The check engine light was on. I left my car at the dealership, they provided a ride to my place of employment. Rich and the service department determined what needed to be done in order to eliminate the problem. I was given an estimated cost of the work to be performed and an estimate when the car would ready. The estimate was accurate and i was picked up by shuttle when the car was ready. I have been using this dealership for service for several years. The entire service department operates efficiently and minimizes my time at the dealership. I have utilized other dealerships over the years but Porter Chevrolet is the best I've used.

I would recommend this dealer.

By Accordsforall on 5/6/2008 at 11:15 PM. Helped by Dave.

I purchased a used Honda Accord with 106k on the odometer. I bought the car thinking that the timing belt had already been done. Most of these cars have to have it done between 80 and 100k. 1. When I brought the car in for an oil change I discovered that you need to make an appointment, cant just drop the car off on a weekend. And I like thousands of others in this world have a 9-5job. And many of us cant get the car to service in the time allotted. Not to mention, my only alternative was to leave the car overnight... so I was left inconvenienced and without a car for the next day. Only for me to see the car the next day.. after the service had closed, without the ability to speak with who did the oil at all. I made this mistake 2x before finding out that their service is poor, their hours are SUBSTANDARD, and their prices.. aren't worth the cost of the damn sign. 2. When I brought the car in the 2nd time, I was informed by the tech, that the car in fact DID NOT have the belt done and it was going to be an expensive in the $650 range. 3. I also brought the car in about a week after my oil change to get my brakes done. I had expected new pads and my rotors to be sanded. I'm sure the pads got done, at a sum that I wasnt happy with. And after bringing the car back 2x (struggling to find a time to bring the damn car in for these yahoos to examine the brakes).... they still couldn't find any issues. So, bad brakes, (didn't TURN THE ROTORS), shitty oil change hours, and being lied to about my timing belt. These people couldn't fix a hole in a bag, with 2 cases OF DUCT TAPE.

I would not recommend this dealer.
