$131 for a car wash.

By Bob Gibson on 7/13/2019 at 10:13 PM. Helped by Chandler.

I had a Saturday morning 8:30 appointment for service. I arrived at 8:25, parked my car in the garage, and stood there, waiting for someone to acknowledge me. After waiting until 8:35 and watching different employees talking and drinking coffee or water, I finally asked someone if I was in the right place. "Oh yes, we'll take care of you in a minute." So they finally asked why I was there. Several months ago, my "engine malfunction" light went off. I went to Auto Zone and got a FREE diagnostics test that told me that my rear oxygen sensor needed replaced. Took it to a mechanic, he replaced it. Engine malfunction light went off again in a few weeks. I took it back to him, and he said that the software wasn't properly reading the new oxygen sensor, and that they couldn't update the software--only a Honda dealership could. So, I scheduled an appointment at Priority Honda. Big mistake. So I explained all this to the guy (Chandler) that took my info. I asked him how much to update the software. He said either $61 or $131. I said, "Wow! That's a big difference, and seems like a lot for a software update. I hope it's only $61." He said he'd check with the technician and come and let me know before they did anything. So I sat in the waiting room. And sat. And sat. Chandler didn't come and update me. Nobody did. Finally, after 1 hour and 45 minutes, a guy (either Rick or Rich--I wish I would have gotten his name) came and announced that they were ready to tell me that my car was ready. I followed him to the cash register. He said they did a diagnostic and that my rear oxygen sensor was faulty. I told him that I didn't need a diagnosis--that I needed a software update. He said that the technician said my car's software was already updated. I said so then I shouldn't have to pay anything, right? He said, well we had to do a diagnostic test to see why the engine malfunction light was on. I told him that I already know the diagnostic says my oxygen sensor is faulty--I've been to Auto Zone twice, and they diagnosed it for FREE both times and told me the same thing. And I had it replaced by a mechanic and he told me the same thing as well. I told him I didn't want to pay $131 for something I already knew about, and that I was told it might be $131 for a software update, NOT a diagnostic test. He said, "Well, it's $131." I told him that I'm sorry if I'm irritated, but asked him to put himself in my shoes. and whether he would think it's unreasonable to pay $131 to pay for test that I can get for FREE at Auto Zone, and that I came in to get my software updated. When they told me it didn't need updated, then what am I paying for? I told him I didn't feel like I should pay, and that I don't want to pay. He just looked at me. I asked him what happens if I don't pay. He said, "We have your car keys, and you won't get your car back." Well, that's great customer service. Fantastic. I looked at the receipt, and it says that they recommend I get my oxygen sensor replaced. For over $400. I told him I'm not replacing the oxygen sensor, and that I'll pay only to get my car back. I paid the $131, grudgingly, and they brought me my car. It was washed. So I feel like I paid $131 for a car wash. Thanks Priority. I won't be back. And I'll let everyone I know about my experience. We serviced our Priority Honda's in New Bern, NC when we were stationed down there, and they were fantastic with customer service and always gave us prompt, reliable, and reasonable service. This experience was precisely the opposite.

I would not recommend this dealer.

***Priority not such a Priority (Please Read)!!***

By HondaMan on 7/8/2019 at 11:12 AM. Helped by Dennis K.

I purchased a car recently, I was so dissatisfied with the level of care I received during my purchase. So much so that I hate my car more and more everyday. One day after purchasing my vehicle I asked if I could return the vehicle because I no longer felt like it was for me as a result of poor handling during my initial sale. I asked to speak with countless managers and was given the run around at every inquiry. The entire process was exhausting. I finally spoke with a manager and he asked in short how much would it take for me to keep my vehicle. I wanted to say “0” and hand back the keys but I shared my concerns and went against my gut instinct and kept the vehicle after I was told that the dealership doesn’t take back vehicles after purchase. Many other dealerships give you at least a 24 hr “trial”period. NOT PRIORITY! Priorities for life= Ponzi Scheme/Rip off Furthermore the priorities for life are a total GYP. Free oil, free filter and free state inspection all with the intent to make a sale on car service. Each time your car receives “service” before picking up your vehicle priority gives you a list of issues with your vehicle that would require your immediate attention. So you say “oh don’t worry I have priorities for life and I’m sure the work is covered.” Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. Priorities for life only takes care of the issue after you have already paid for the part and service/issue once. In other words if you have an issue you pay for the repairs initially, if you have that same issues again it would be covered under priorities for life. But rest assured the oil change is free after discovering $500.00+ worth of work each visit on your vehicle.! ***Dealership fees=$699.00*** Even if they mention waiving the fee please pay close attention as they will redistribute to another area. Lastly use your better judgement if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck more then likely it’s a “P******* De******ip” Helpful tips for you. 1. Shop around first, don’t feel obligated or pressured into anything. They need you more then you need them. 2. Never pay more then market value 3. Don’t get the “Wrap Around” warranty the explanations are very vague and in reality it’s a smoking mirror to have more “service” done to your vehicle. 4. It’s ok to walk away 5. Leave a review with the BBB about your experience. Don’t let the mani/pedi, latte and massage chairs relax you into a bad deal. Online car sales are super transparent, and the best option In my opinion or no haggle dealerships. Happy Car-buying and May the games ever be in your favor.

Wonderful Experience with Jeff Waugh

By KelsieB on 5/28/2019 at 2:14 PM. Helped by Jeff Waugh.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Jeff Waugh at Priority Honda. This was my first experience visiting a dealership to buy a car and I was nervous about feeling pressured by a salesman into buying something I didn't want or couldn't afford. Jeff was extremely responsive via e-mail and text so we were able to sort out most of the details before I even arrived at the dealership. He greeted me at the front door when I got there and we got straight to the test drive. He was able to answer all of my questions and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Truly cannot say enough good things about working with Jeff and would absolutely recommend that you request him before going to the dealership. I am extremely happy with my car, the service, and the price.

I would recommend this dealer.

Unpriority

By natbrux on 5/22/2019 at 8:51 PM. Helped by The salesman I had isn't listed above..

Came here to buy a truck for cash. Of course I had to deal with the regular stalling to negotiate an agreed price. After agreeing on a price and signing papers, I was left sitting for an hour and a half, just to pay for the vehicle. I was told 10 or more times I was next and it would be just a few minutes. There was at least 15 employees sitting around gossiping, it was apparently a very slow afternoon. But not one person in the place could take cash or swipe a credit card so I could get out in a timely manner. Salesman definitely had an attitude, even told me he didn't care if he sold me the truck or not, because the price was low. A person would think that would be more incentive to get you out of there quickly. Stay away from this dealership, if you expect to be treated with appreciation and as though your time is important. And for the 699.99 service fee, they should throw in a year of oil changes and an extended warranty. Or at a minimum, make the customer purchase process a priority. Thanks for immense aggravation Un-priority Honda.

Cedric Hurston

By SydneyT09 on 5/11/2019 at 4:45 PM. Helped by Ricardo & the sweet blonde lady that worked in the large office I forgot her name I'm sorry!.

I came in to have my 2007 Honda Accord serviced for some issues and was surprised at how much needed to be fixed and decided to look for a new model. I am a recent college graduate and now enrolled in a medical training program and was a first time car buyer so I was nervous about the process. Cedric made the process smooth and made me feel comfortable with my purchase and really extended himself along with the other staff to work with so that I could have the perfect car for my birthday. I am so grateful to everyone who helped me from beginning to end! Thank you Cedric and Priority Honda!

I bought a car three months ago and my axel is now broken. They won’t fix it. Sat and waited as they told us they were short staffed. Talk to a sales man he brought us to maintenance and then maintenance sent us up front.

Low credit score, high end car

By Nurse&drive on 5/5/2019 at 3:19 PM.

Thank you Tiffany, Cedric, and the staff of Priority Honda Automotive for working hard to put me in a top of the line car. Tiffany offerred me a wide selection of cars with the requirements I voiced in my price range. She listened and remembered my concerns unlike other dealers. Cedric was very caring, provided a professional enviornment, and made me feel welcome. I went to four other dealerships who couldn't keep me in my budget. One even offered to teach me how to drive a stick and I never even learned or was interested in doing so. When I came to priority, I felt hope without the pressure to settle for something I didn't want. They feel like a business-dressed family. They are very busy, but this is expected from one of the best in Chesapeake. Thank you for the long hours your team put forward in making sure I had a set of new wheels! I ended up in a SUV with more benefits than I asked for.

Great Customer Service

By ChesapeakeMatt on 5/3/2019 at 3:10 AM.

My salesman (Ken) did an amazing job. He was very thorough and clear explaining the difference in trims, applicable features, and answered any and all questions. Ken did everything he could to bring the price down to a range we were looking for. All employees stayed until well after closing to help us with paperwork/financing. I would recommend this place to everybody.

Exactly What A Dealership Should Be.

By Ed on 4/28/2019 at 9:37 PM.

Three years ago I purchased a new car from a competing Honda dealership. The vehicle had some problems so I called Priority Honda. I'm glad I did! Priority was able to schedule service at my convenience. They helped to communicate with an adjuster from the auto insurance company. They also handled communication with a representative from an existing third-party service contract. Priority broke down the costs of covered repairs versus non-covered repairs, the time and expenses involved and also offered me an alternative. Enter Ken Bracken At the time, I wasn't interested in an alternative and I was pretty unhappy with Honda. Ken made it his personal mission to make it all better. It took all day(10 hours), a search through their inventory, inventories from other dealerships and even walking the lot to make sure he offered me everything and anything I wanted. He genuinely cared about my dissatisfaction, the lack-luster service contract I had with a competitor and my desire to switch from a midsize vehicle to a truck. Ken worked sincerely to find me a great deal on a same year model truck at a comparable value with comparable mileage. He succeeded. Between Ken Bracken and the finance department they were also able to keep the bottom line where I wanted. Not only that, they offered me a legitimate lifetime bumper-to-bumper service contract. What I will remember most is that I got to know all about Ken's love of trucks, especially a beautiful Ruby Red F150. Thanks again Ken and thank you Priority Honda. You've earned a new customer. take care.

Awesome experience and Priority Honda!

By Dunderhill on 4/24/2019 at 8:19 PM.

We recently purchased a new CR V from Ken Bracken, and he actually made it a painless and pleasant process. We had been dreading the thought of buying a new car, but while Ken was attentive and stayed in touch with us, we never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. He was awesome...he was exactly the sale associate we needed! After we bought the CR V, he instructed us thoroughly on the features of the car, and he offered to meet with us again to answer addtional questions we might have later. We bought our Accord from Priority in 2008 still consider them our dealership of choice. Ken represented them well!

Cedric Hurston: Great customer service

By L. Wivczar on 4/16/2019 at 2:15 PM.

I had decided to replace my 2002 Honda Civic with a used Honda Fit EX and wanted to purchase it through Priority Honda. Cédric warned me that very few Fit Exes are turned in but that he would be on the “lookout”. Finally one became available and Cédric made sure that it was in Chesapeake so I could test drive it and look it over. After my test drive I decided to buy it. Cedric pointed out a few paint chips ( one I hadn’t even noticed!) and assured me that they would be repaired. Throughout the sale and repairs to the paint, Cedric worked diligently to let me know what was happening every step of the way. I just love my “ new to me” beautiful Honda Fit with unblemished paint! Many thanks to Cedric for making my wish his “priority”!

I came to the dealership to compare prices for CR-Vs and met Tiffany Shaw! She is both personable and professional, with genuine care and concern for her customers! Tiffany turned my comparison shopping into an excellent car buying experience! She made sure I was happy with my purchase every step of the way and she showed me how to program some of the essentials in the infotainment system too! I have already, and will continue to highly recommend Ms. Tiffany Shaw as the go-to auto sales consultant, to family and friends! Thank you, Tiffany (we'll be back)!!!!
