FRAUDULENT AND SHAMELESS

By Thatcarguy28 on 6/21/2018 at 5:20 PM. Helped by Nour Mond, Jerry Hunter.

Like many other, I am not usually one who finds the time to write reviews online, but based on my terrible experience with Quirk Kia’s sales department – I was compelled to write this review to educate others regarding their fraudulent business practices. To begin, I was contacted by Quirk KIA sales regarding the possibility of switching out my KIA Forte with a new vehicle prior to my lease end. When I visited the dealership, I was assisted by two sales reps who offered a compelling deal on a brand new Kia Optima. They mentioned that I would only be responsible for paying my first month’s lease payment that day and that they would “take care” of everything else including any remaining liabilities on my KIA Forte. I also confirmed this with the finance manager who sat down with me prior to signing. A few weeks later, I received a bill stating that I was responsible for $2,414.28 for outstanding fees on my old lease. When I contacted Kia Motor Finance, I was informed that Quirk KIA was only responsible for the advanced lease payments and that I should contact the dealership to dispute the remaining balance. I contacted the dealership and spoke with an M. Edwards, one of the finance managers. I mentioned to him that the bill I received conflicts with information I was provided upon signing the new lease. He advised me to send him an email with a screenshot of the bill, so that he could do further research. I sent an email and did not hear anything. I called a few business days later and he advised that he was busy and that I would hear back soon. Turns out he never followed up. I called back a week later when he reluctantly advised that I had to pay the bill because I went over my mileage on my previous leased vehicle. It didn’t seem like he did any research at all because the excess mileage charge was only one of a few charges shown on the bill. I could clearly see what the charges were for, but it conflicted with what his colleagues told me in December. His only advice was to try to see if I could pay it in installments and told me “good luck”. I had also spoken to Matt Sweeney, the general manager, who argued that it was my fault for not telling them I went over my mileage during signing for the new lease. I find this to be quite deceptive and unfair! If I knew I would still have obligations toward the old vehicle, I would not have signed for the new vehicle to begin with. I then decided to file a consumer complaint with the Office of the Attorney General against Quirk Kia. The Office of the Attorney General assigned a consumer advocate who worked tediously to help resolve the dispute which lasted about 5 months. My consumer advocate had discovered that there was a discrepancy between the dealership and the finance company. A few weeks later my consumer advocate told me that Matt Sweeney decided to offer a check for $1200 as settlement. This was approximately 50% of my bill, which is synonymous with many other complaints I have seen online that end with some sort of settlement. At this point, my case was closed, but it was reopened because the check that Quirk KIA sent off had the incorrect VIN and was allocated to the wrong account!!! You would think after all I went through they could have at least gotten that right! Luckily my consumer advocate was able to resolve the issue and ensured that the payment was reallocated to my account. I then paid off the entirety of the remaining balance right away. Around that time I was in the process of refinancing my home and found out that the outstanding fees on my old lease actually caused a bad report on my credit throughout the length of the dispute! Just when I thought I had had enough. I have read multiple reviews and complaints online from others who share the same sentiment. They are a shameless and deceptive group of salesmen whose only concern is to tell you anything to convince you to buy a car. Once you’ve walked out the door you are the least of their concern. Please ensure that if you are given an offer or promotion, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Do your research and shop various dealerships. That will help you avoid what I went through.

I would not recommend this dealer.

I traded in a kia forte for a soul

By Char on 6/9/2018 at 6:52 PM. Helped by Tony in service.

You have an amazing staff in sales and service. The three people help me for the last ear or so. Francisco Reyes Flores has to be one of your best sales people. He did not push me into anything. He never made me feel obligated to go with the sale. He gave me every break he could to help me out. I highly recommend him for any sale Jorge L. Reyes is a great person to work with. He got me the lowest price for financing. He took my situation into consideration and I was so happy leaving there with my new car These two men work great together to help the custom we in every possible way The last person is in service. His name is Tony. I don't know his last name but he is awesome. Gets people in and out as soon as possible. 3 great people to deal with and I will always go back to these 3

Great experience

By elfchiro on 5/17/2018 at 3:40 PM.

Great experience! My wife and I leased our second and third vehicles recently from Quirk Kia. Our salesman Sean went out of his way to make sure we were happy and got a great deal. We told them what we needed for vehicles, The payment we could afford and what we could contribute up front. There was very little back and forth before we were able to settled on a deal we were happy with. For those who have never driven a Kia it is a great product. So, if you are in the market for a great car and like great customer service ask for Sean at Quirk Kia.

We bought a Kia Sorento this week! We are beyond pleased with our salesman, Mr. Francisco Flores. As far as car buying goes this was relatively easy and my husband and Francisco worked a good deal for our needs and budget. I would highly recommend This dealership and of course Francisco who has many years of experience . Laughter and trust are always a good combination. Many thanks! We are very pleased with our Sorento and the KIA brand!

Excellent customer service

By vincentbuttaro on 1/31/2018 at 7:32 PM. Helped by Patrick Gallo.

I was having multiple issues with my Kia Optima over the last year with other Kia Delearships and finally got fed up and went to the Braintree location for service. The service manager, Patrick Gallo, was awesome and took care of all of my needs and fixed my car promptly. He went above and beyond and bent over backwards to make me happy and fix my car the right way. If anyone needs a Kia Delearship for service, this is the one to go to to get it done! This is my choice for all future service and needs. - Vincent Buttaro, Jr.

Great

By Lindsey on 11/28/2017 at 2:07 PM. Helped by Ali.

It was time to get a new car after my truck was falling apart. originally talked to Micaela over the phone who ended up pairing me up with Ali. I'm glad she did. I'll admit I had a big guard up and wasn't really looking forward to dealing with pushy sales people but Ali had a no BS attitude and was also friendly and personable answering all of my questions confidently. Instead of trying to box me in to one direction he explained the pros and cons of going between either buying pre owned, leasing, or financing based off my current situation. I appreciated this because he was looking out for my best interest given my situation instead of only caring about selling a car. Based off the information he gave me I decided to go with pre owned due to the fact Kia has the best certified pre owned program out. For someone like myself who keeps cars until they run into the ground, this made sense ( considering I missed the deprecation period and have a warranty that is almost as good as their brand new warranty ) . Now a happy owner of a 2015 Kia Sorento. Thank you Quirk , Ali, and Micaela

By mam2455 on 11/15/2017 at 10:07 PM. Helped by Clayton Burns.

The shopping and choosing a new car can be stressful not knowing what to look for but I must say it was made easier by the knowledgeable and friendly sales person Clayton Burns. He was patient when I didn't know what I wanted and he answered all my questions and didn't rush me when I couldn't make up my mind. Well I finally chose the car based on the information he supplied and I am very happy with my new Kia Optima 2017. Thank you Clayton Burns and Quirk Kia.

An experience I wouldn't mind Reliving.

By Arika Sang on 10/23/2017 at 9:56 PM. Helped by Louie.

This was one of the easiest transactions I have ever had in car buying. With that being said I want to point out I've purchased quite an amount of cars and it's usually not an experience I'd like to relive. However this one I definitely wouldn't mind. I set up an appointment to meet up with a sales consultant Louie on a Wednesday at 11. I arrived late thinking I would get someone else, Louie had waited for me with a Smile, not only was he waiting he had brochures ready on the car i wanted and cars similar. He knew exactly what was in stock and available for my choosing. I test drove the Optima and of course loved it. When it came to negotiation I was so anxious internally I was panicking and I always am when it comes to this part of the buying process. Louie was very patient. We talked numbers and what was within my budget. Needless to say I got more then what I asked for and left with my new car the same Day!

I would recommend this dealer.

Never buy a car from this dealership

By Don't buy from Quirk Kia on 9/2/2017 at 7:58 PM.

My husband bought a new car from this dealership (A BIG MISTAKE) yesterday. He negotiated a price for more than 2 thousand dollars below the ticket price. However, when I reviewed the sale contract last night, the dealership increased the price to more than one thousand dollars than the ticket price. The final price is the same as what my husband negotiated for after a manufacturer's rebate. We went back and asked them to honor the negotiation before the rebate. Of course, the manager denied the negotiation since they have already got our money. I got upset and the rude manager threaten to call the police because I was yelling. All consumers deserved to know how they treated their customer. Don't be the next person cheated by this sneaky dealership.

Run while you can.

By DPD on 6/6/2017 at 3:27 AM. Helped by Matt.

Unfortunately, my experience at Quirk Kia was horrible. At first, when the promotions are luring, and when you first walk in to purchase your car, the customer service is flawless. But once you experience any legitimate issues, such as, for example, INTERNAL ENGINE FAILURE after only 2.5 years of driving a brand new car, then they could care less about your story. The 2015 Kia Forte I had leased in 2014 started giving me problems shortly after completing 2 years. Battery leaking acid, alternator causing my car to die at every set of lights, brakes going bad, etc. Needless to say, none of these issues were covered by warranty, and so there goes $300. When I took my car to a third-party shop I trust (dear friends are the owners), they tested the alternator in front of me, and suggested I take the car to Kia Service so they could replace it - since that was still under warranty. I did. The tech was very nice at Pride Kia in Lynn, but after they had my car for three days, they just called me and asked for receipts of my oil changes. No explanation, no reason why. Just fax us the receipts. I did. I had to show up at the service center to find out what was going on, and the tech told me I had "Internal Engine Failure" and that the engine needed to be replaced. So they asked for the receipts to try to see if I would have them, or else they would have pinned a new motor on me. And so a MONTH later, my car is ready. I pull it out of the service center and engine light goes on. I go back in, they turn it off (hmm), and then I leave. A day later, there it goes again. I had no more peace of mind driving this car. So here is where it gets lovely. I drive the 40 minutes to Quirk Kia of Braintree where I leased the car, and ask to speak to a manager. Some guy called Matt, who calls himself a manager, sits with us, and I tell him my story. I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to switch this lemon to another car without carrying over the negative equity, since I still had a year left to go on a 4-year lease. He says "let me see what I can do". But before he did anything, I reassured him I didn't want another Kia. Then he simply says "There's nothing I can do for you". We (My mother and I) start trying to attempt to have conversation with him. He says Kia cars aren't supposed to last nowadays, engines fail, it's reality. We asked if he would allow his children to drive Kias knowing the engine could fail on brand new cars at any moment, and he arrogantly said yes. Then he gets up, as to shoo us out of the dealership, says have a nice day, and that's it. That's what we get for leasing a car from Quirk Kia. Sweet. Less than 5 minute conversation. I just got up and left. And the icing on the cake - he accuses my mother - MY MOTHER - of trying to come in and chasing after "easy money" - those exact words. Now you judge for yourself. We drove right to Toyota in Lynn, carried the negative equity into a brand new lease AND put money down - and the lease is more expensive. Are we after easy money? The arrogance, mistreatment, and humiliation we experienced went beyond anything we ever thought was possible. And for a car that was literally a piece of trash, which Matt himself admitted is "normal". This guy could have done so many things. If he was smart, he could've offered me a Chevy, which is part of Quirk. He could have offered me even a Subaru. He could have treated us like actual human beings. But the sad part is he didn't even try! Why? What did we do to deserve that? Was it our fault the car malfunctioned? Was he really assuming we were there to try to get out of a lease because we wanted "easy money"? He judged us simply because he got offended that a car he himself said was not made to last had given us problems and we no longer wanted a product from the same manufacturer. Can you blame us? That is the Kia product, or better yet, that is the Quirk Kia Product. If you value customer service and safety, Buy/Lease at your own risk.

Did not listen to my request

By Burton Faberman on 4/17/2017 at 10:08 PM. Helped by Don't know female employee.

When I call dealerships with explicit directions as to color of car, interior color and model, I expect them to tailor their response to what is requested. Talked to sales person and given a stock # that was never close to what I asked for. When questioned, the answer was we don't shop around for your color. Is this personal service or courtesy to a new customer? Take it or leave it. I suggest you leave it when it comes to Quirk.

He introduced me another sales manager. He was very rude. Did not want to work with the customer. Gave me almost double price that I was told before in this office. Did not let me finish my words and said: "You have a good day gus" He literally kicked us out of the office. Don't yrust them. They tell you one thing on the phone but another then ng in the office.

Stay Away at All Costs

By mbusack on 9/30/2016 at 10:54 PM.

Just had the worst customer experience of my life at Quirk Kia. I went in looking to buy a used car. I was considering trading in my vehicle and buying either one or two used cars (a large investment on my behalf.) I was immediately approached by a salesman named Ali Tubaishat. From the very beginning it was the typical used car dealer experience I was expecting. He was very pushy, trying to get me to say I would commit to buying a car today. We looked at two cars, then he brought me inside and started to wheel and deal with the managers. After being there for a total of an hour and 1/2, Ali and his managers had me tentatively interested in a $21,000 financed deal for a used car with 60,000 miles. However, I stressed the whole time that I wanted to think about it and potentially look around since this was the very first hour I had even started looking at cars. When Ali started to check my credit he began a conversation about what would happen next (we would switch the plates, call my insurance) and I stopped him and said, "I'm not agreeing to buying this car yet." Ali immediately said "what the xxxx are we doing here then?" And I was totally taken off guard and said "Forget it, I don't want to buy a car from you if you are going to treat me like that" He stood up, ripped the paperwork up in my face and walked across the dealership to get my keys swearing at me in front of all of the other customers and coworkers. It was a humiliating and wildly inappropriate situation. When I left the general sales manager was still trying to sell me a car. I was flustered and wanted to just leave. About 15 minutes later the entire situation started to sink in and I called to complain about the incident to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. The person who answered the phone in the sales room pretended to listen to my concern and then said "oh ok, I'll fire Ali and you can come get two cars." Then hung up. It was clearly Ali again. The whole situation made me very uncomfortable and is completely inappropriate. No one forced me to go to Quirk Kia, I was genuinely interested in purchasing vehicles. They had no right to treat me the way I was treated. Beware for sure!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Do not buy insurance form Bernadin @ quirk

By Gotrippedoff on 7/12/2016 at 7:12 PM.

A better Ins. Co. is a ripoff. I was referred to him by Bernadin @ Quirk Kia. I got ripped off for 100.00. A better ins co. specifically Patrick @ 508 202 7178. I have tried to call Patrick numerous times and he will not answer the phone. He can keep the 100.00 even though I could use the money as I just returned to work after beating cancer. He lied about the payments I would be making on my Ins. He calls me 2 days after taking out the 100.00 service charge and tells me a completely different Ins. rate. DO NOT DO ANY Ins. business with Quirk in Braintree or a better ins. co. !!!!
