The Worst Sales Experience of My Life

My recent experience leasing a 2019 Jetta from Quirk was so poorly handled I wonder how they can stay in business. I have leased multiple vehicles from this dealership over 10 years and spent a great deal of money with Quirk, and yet I was treated in manner which can only lead me to conclude that they do not value my business. The sales representative lied to me and told me that the vehicle included a satellite radio, an issue we reviewed at least 4 times, and then AFTER I signed the contract I was informed that the vehicle did not include a satellite radio - literally the ONE specific capability I had asked for in the new leased vehicle. So either the salesperson deliberately deceived me, or had paid no attention to my request. I'm confident we would all agree that neither alternative is acceptable sales behavior, by even the lowest standards of professionalism. Then when I asked the Sales Manager for assistance, he expressed deepest sympathy but offered to do absolutely nothing to address the situation. When I asked for assistance with installing the satellite radio - which I had to purchase separately myself! - he stated in a rather cavalier fashion that the dealership would not provide any assistance with the the installation of the satellite radio and this was not his concern. No further form of redress was offered, and the one request I made was turned down flat. Based on this experience I would caution anyone from investing their money with Quirk as it seems likely that there are other dealerships that will treat you with honesty and respect for your investment. They clearly have no qualms about losing a longtime customer through dishonest behavior. Overall a very disappointing experience, and I shall not be returning.

I shopped several VW dealerships in search of a 2016 Touareg TDI diesel. The management of Quirk VW had the exact vehicle we wanted. We had to wait 9 months for the EPA to approve a modification. Went they were completed, the car was waiting for us, as promised. We have nothing but praises for VW and the Braintree Quirk dealership.

Price hidding

I went to this dealership for changing my breaks yesterday, because I thought the price was reasonable. For changing breaks for both front and rear, they gave me the price was $800+tax, I was very happy with this price. Based on the prices I got from other dealerships, I didn't trust the price from this dealer at the beginning, so I called them more than three times and got same answer every time. Therefore, I drove to this dealership and took me more than an hour due to traffic. I have confirmed the price which was same as previously mentioned again before gave him my car key and I still had a little bit of worries the tricky of price when I left the dealership. However, human's direct sense always be true. I got a call form the guy of this dealership when I was on the way back to Boston, and the guy told me he gave me a wrong price and the true price would be $1000 in total. OMG, the dirty thing finally was truly happened. Yes, I was not wrong, I got the call on my way back to Boston. I thought this was the truth, the guy believed I won't go back even with higher price, because I will waste a lot of my times if I don't take his price. After negotiation, he gave me the final price was $900+tax. I had to accept it because I didn't want to waste my time any more. I thought this dealership was unprofessional and should be honest all the time. I won't complain if they told me the true price at the beginning. It is very disgusting for playing this tricky to his customers.

7 VW's and counting

I have had 7 Volkswagens and my last three have been through Quirk. There is a reason for that!! Highly recommend this place for a new or used car/SUV whether it be a purchase or lease, they will get you driving your new VW with as little hassle as possible. In particular, Mike Kingsley, the salesman that has helped me with my last two leases, is the best! A great guy who doesn't use pressure tactics and makes the entire process feel effortless due to his relaxed demeanor. I just leased a 2018 Tiguan and could not be happier!!

They have the ability to cut my key but they won't do it

I called today to ask about having a key that I acquired through a friend (brand new, never programmed or cut) cut and programmed to my 2002 VW Passat. The guy who answered the phone first said that they could do it and that they had the key cutting machine, but he just had to check with a manager about the possibility of just paying to have the key cut, and I could possibly program it myself. I was on hold for quite some time and then when he came back he said that the parts department guy said they would only cut and program keys that THEY sell (which cost $300). I was willing to pay for the programming AND the key cutting, but he still said they wouldn't do it unless I purchased the RIDICULOUSLY expensive key from their dealership. THANKS FOR THE HELP, QUIRK VW! I just got this Passat, and live right down the street from this dealership and was planning on getting all my service done at this dealership. NOT ANYMORE. I hope loosing a long time service customer was worth your stupid policy about not cutting and programming keys that aren't OVERCHARGED for at your ridiculously expensive parts department. SEE YA!

Unprofessional

I leased a 2017 Volkswagon Tiguan on Monday. It snowed the following two days, so I did not drive it the two days after I picked it up. So, the first day driving it (Thursday) I drove it to work. On the way home from work the car broke down. Five different lights were flashing and it was not accelerating. I had to pull over as much as a could and I called the road side assistance. It took them two hours to get there. I called VW Braintree, MA (where I got the car) and they said to have it towed and dropped off there and to call back in the morning because they were closing soon. The next day I did not receive one call from the company to update me on my BRAND NEW CAR that had broke down. I called them three times and each time they said they would call me back and tell me what was wrong. THEY NEVER DID. So I had to get a ride to the dealership. They told me it was the throttlebody (without explaining to me what exactly that is). They said they were going to fix it and that it "shouldn't happen again, but we can't promise anything." The manager said to call him the next day and he will figure out what he can do for me. I've called him three times and left messages and NO CALL BACK. Needless to say, I have never experienced a place that is so unprofessional. No one called me to apologize that my brand new car had sh*t the bed, no one called me to actually tell me what was wrong. Worst car dealership I have ever been to.

Loving my E-Golf!

My fiance and I picked up my leased 2016 VW E-Golf today and I'm loving it so far! Vadim was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the car and helpful every step of the way. GM Jason walked us through the lease vs. purchasing options, clearly going through the numbers so that we could see the pros and cons of each option and make an informed decision. The whole process was quick and easy, we test drove and signed initial paperwork Wednesday, then finalized everything and picked up the car today. Vadim contacted me a couple of times between Wednesday and today to make sure everything was all set. Overall, an easy process and I love my new car!

Battery issue / shaking on highway / oil change

Whenever there is a car problem it is stressful! I had a super wonderful experience at Quirk VW in Braintree today with Josh as my Service Technician. Thank you so much Josh for helping me ASAP without an appointment. Josh was super professional, extremely informative, and very very nice! He helped me get my car back on the road and worked with me to stay within my budget. I will definitely come back. Whenever I go to Quirk, I know the job will get done right! And thank you for the complimentary snow brush! Also, Chuck from the merchandise shop helped me charge my phone, which was a life saver for me. Thank you to all the hard workers at Quirk!!! you guys rock!

Misfire after 60k service

I brought in my car (2010 GTI) for a regular 60K maintenance service. The engine was misfiring right after I left the dealership and the Check Engine and EPC lights came on. I turned around immediatley and said something is wrong with the engine. They checked it and said it's running ok now but they could see that it was misfiring when I drove it. It could be due to faulty ignition coils. If replacing the ignition coils wouldn't fix it car needs decarb of intake manifold. I mentioned that I never had any misfiring before I dropped it of for the 60k service. When I left again, same issue, misfiring and then running on 3 cylinders after software shut down one cylinder. Since I had to rush to a family event I didn't return a second time but sent an email to them instead asking about next steps. They never replied to my email.

I unexpectedly needed my car serviced as I was on my way to New Hampshire and brought it into service. Chris Mulstay had it looked at for me right away and got me in and out before I could even arrange another ride. And he wasn't just great to me - I saw him update customers while I waited multiple times on the statuses of their cars and made everyone feel comfortable and in the know about what's going on. Definitely would recommend him and will be here for any additional service!!!

Excellent and prompt customer service

Would like to share my very positive experiences at QUIRCK VW IN BRAINTREE I have been getting my VW serviced for 2 years and have had nothing but super friendly prompt service ! Marc one of the service consultants is a super courteous guy and clear communicator. He gets the job done and work is done by when it is promised. If for some reason there is a delay ( awaiting parts etc) u are informed via text or voicemail AND when your car is reviewed for a major check up ( like 20K ) they make a cool video of all the findings . Nice to get a bit of education about the car u rely on every day .. I highly recommend Quirk !! Kudos to Marc for making my ( prior to Quirk ...dreaded ) car follow ups so easy and pleasant .

Bad Customer Relations

My and my wife went to look at a Passat on 7/8/16 My wife was not feeling well I told them this she was having a hard time breathing. I walk out of the dealership they keep working on Robin so I was talked back in and leased the car. There forced the car on me Xavier should be ashamed of himself. Since then my wife has been gravely ill and passed away the end of August. I need to turn the car in because I can not afford 2 cars now with my wife gone. I called the dealership on several occasions and they told me there is nothing they can do for me. I called the owner 5 times and left messages with his office manager still no response. The only option I have is give it back to VW Credit and it will destroy my credit.This all about selling the car they do not care about the people. Please stay away from this place I do not want something like this to happen to anyone else.

High volume low pressure

In the past I purchased luxury cars, so you may or may not choose to take my VW dealer review with a grain of salt. The negotiation process was fine. The vehicle delivery part was.... not fine. Given VW news, the message to each dealer should be that every sale is precious. Yet that is not the case. Some communication issues might have been caught if I had noticed that they had gotten a digit wrong on my phone number. But maybe not. I have lived long enough and and made enough mistakes that I hesitate to find fault with others.

They really know how to make the customer feel like VIP

I walked in with my boyfriend in search of a car to finance. We had a list of key features we had in mind but didn’t make the decision on a specific car yet since my credit is less than perfect. Vadim did everything he could to make sure we were not only happy with the Jetta but that it was exactly what we wanted. I feel like most car dealerships out there try and manipulate the customer into buying the car that would benefit them the most, and not the customer. Not here. In fact, it was quite the opposite. My voice was always heard and Vadim made sure to satisfy all my questions and concerns, the whole location was genuinely friendly and made us feel like VIP honestly. Vadim was very patient with us, especially when I accidentally wrote the wrong address. They made sure to make me a priority and get it fixed in amazingly record time. I’ve had my Jetta for about a month now and I AM IN LOVE, it has surpassed my greatest expectations. This car is luxury, sport, and economical! My boyfriend and I will DEFINITELY recommend Vadim and the Quirk VW team to anyone we know wanting to buy a car. We will definitely buy from him again when looking to make another purchase.

Terrific Overall Experience

I recently purchased a new 2016 VW GTI from Quirk VW and I couldn't be more pleased or satisfied with my experience. My sales representative was Peter and I don't have enough pleasant things to say about him. He was very professional and informative, buy never pressured me or made me feel like I was being given a stereotypical sales pitch. He went above and beyond to accommodate my needs, concerns, and budget. Worked with my down payment and trade in to give me a very good deal on a brand new GTI. Communication was clear and easy. Paperwork was smooth. They took care of everything and allowed me to drive the car home with little frustration or effort on my part. I would highly recommend Quirk VW to any interested in a Volkswagen, and in particular I would recommend my sales representative Peter. Again, everything went perfect.

I recommend Chelsea Slater VW Salesperson

I received an internet price for my 2016 VW Golf Sportwagen. The price was a good discount off the MSRP. This got me into the dealership as the price was better than most other dealerships. When I arrived I was introduced to Chelsea Slater. She was very professional and accompanied me on a test drive in the Sportwagen. Chelsea and I discussed my 2005 trade-in with the sales manager. Chelsea was patient and straightforward. After we agreed on price, Chelsea professionally stuck out her hand and said "deal" to which I gladly accepted and shook her hand.
