Good experience.

By Tom M on 10/5/2017 at 2:35 PM. Helped by Thomas Moninger.

First of all delighted with the New CT6. Ryan, Jesse and also Rob exceptionally helpful and friendly as well as knowledgeable about the car. Jesse came to the house to help walk me thru the car features which are numerous. Paperwork was complicated but worked thru. One negative: requested quote on extended warranty from director of finance and after being given booklet no quote sent after two requests. Perhaps he agrees with Consumer Reports that extended warranties not the best use of money. Have worked with Service department in past and both consultants and mechanics are very good. All in all a very good experience.

I would recommend this dealer.

Customer Friendly

By Mike on 9/3/2017 at 9:19 PM. Helped by Dave.

Appointments are easy to make and dealer is very customer friendly. I have been going to Rickenbaugh for service on my Cadillac's ever since I bought my first one in 2008. They are the best as far as I am concerned. They offer amenities for customers waiting on their cars such as WiFi, free snacks and free drinks (water and sods), and Cable Tv, plus the usual great magazines, all good things .

I would recommend this dealer.

No one helped me

By Lookingforsuv on 11/12/2015 at 2:52 PM.

My husband stopped in this dealer on Friday, November 6, 2015 about 2:00 pm. We have started our look for a mid-size SUV, and are considering several luxury brands. We have owned an older model Volvo and really like its safety record, plus the dealership is convenient for us, so we started at Rickenbaugh. We walked around inside, sat in a few cars, and no one asked if we needed help. The front desk person was laughing and talking to other employees, and a sales person walked by, but never asked us what we were in for. We even stopped on the Cadillac side, but no sales person even looked up from their desk. It was really weird, so we figured the dealer didn't need our business, and we left. We went to two other dealerships that day and the experience, including a test drive, was completely different and enjoyable. Good luck to the dealership in staying in business/making a profit when it doesn't seem to need customers. We won't be coming back.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Terrific Sales Expereince!

By karenp on 8/2/2015 at 6:44 PM. Helped by Antjony and Donnie.

Anthony took very good care of me when I needed to replace a car that was totaled in an accident. He sold me a pre-owns vehicle that met my needs and stood behind the sale, even fixing a service issue 45 day after the sale. You can trust the folks at Rickenbaugh to do what they promise - GREAT SALES EXPERIENCE!!

SUSPECTED MISDIAGNOSIS

By Charley Zebra on 7/30/2015 at 12:35 PM. Helped by Steve.

I had just bought the 2003 Deville the day before and did not have time to check out what I could or read the manual. I first asked for a thorough inspection (which, in retrospect, may not have been thorough or the problem would possibly not have occurred). I did notice that one of the switches on the driver's seat was not working. I pointed to that exact switch. The service writer insisted that it was for lumbar control. I had no choice but to believe him and authorized that repair based on his assurance. I am thinking the mechanic also took his word without double checking. After the (bogus?) lumbar control was replaced, they said the recliner motor also needed to be replaced. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AND FIXED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Not very helpful

By satursun on 4/2/2015 at 3:52 PM. Helped by Tammy.

I bought a 2007 Toyota Tundra...the sale was as is. They told me the truck was sold as is, but they gave the vehicle an inspection and there was nothing wrong with the vehicle...well I have had the truck for 1 year. The windshield leaks...the auto headlight stopped working 3 weeks ago and I have to get the rear brakes and Roters replaced...all of which passed rickenbaughs "inspection" oh before I forget the air conditioner pump went out. That alone was 1200 dollars...I would abou buying anything from their used lot...when paying 24,000 for a vehicle one would think he would get better service and be able to trust their word...

By espy3082 on 5/22/2013 at 4:36 PM. Helped by Ron.

I have never had such a poor auto buying experience. I walked into this dealership because it is conveniently located right by me. I was turned over to a sales guy named Ron. I told him I had sold my car and needed a new one asap and was about to pull the trigger on a Lexus when a friend told me to take a look at a Volvo first. So, I came in with questions. He handed me a brochure and said they could all be answered in there. I remained friendly and kept asking questions. He told me to walk around and open up any car in the show room and sit in it and take a look. I felt like I was bothering him. After looking in a few of the cars (brochure in hand), I asked him about pricing so I could compare it with the Lexus quotes I had just received. He told me that was not possible to get until he ran my credit score. I replied that I had already completed this with Lexus and had a copy with me in the car. He said finance would have to get involved and he could not use the one from Lexus. At this point I walked out and told him to have a nice day. I would highly recommend finding ANY other dealership to deal with besides this one.

By Cherryjeri07 on 4/30/2013 at 4:08 PM. Helped by Nick Pacifico.

The employees at this dealership made purchasing a car easier than ever! They listened as I explained exactly what I wanted and the budget I had, and then delivered exactly that! I never once felt like anyone was just trying to make the sale or make some money, but they were genuinely trying to put me in a car that I would be happy with. My purchase was also thrown into a time crunch because I was in the process of moving, and they were so helpful in making it happen.

By JimRoad on 4/17/2013 at 9:01 PM. Helped by Service guy.

I was helping my father in law buy a used XC70 and noticed the dip stick and fill cap had serious sludge reside. My sales man said we could talk to a mechanic about it, so we took the car down to service, and I was told it was normal. What would have been normal is to blush while telling me this line. What would have been real is to at least say that it looks like the oil change interval was exceeded over the life of the car. I find it interesting that this dealership had done all the maintenance for the life of this car. I would never use service department.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By fourtitude on 3/25/2013 at 10:52 AM. Helped by Jon Symons - Used Car Sales Manager; Tammi Maddi, Sales Person.

The buying experience was okay. Sales person seemed disinterested at best to work with me. I'm a young guy so I guess I can see that, but it took 2 days to finish the deal, and she could have cared less. Didn't up date me at all through out the process to let me know if the bank had went through. She seemed like she just wanted to make a sale. What ever, I went there cause the car I wanted was a good deal, and had been shopping around for a used car for a very long time. I expressed concerns about the car - specifically that Jaguar's don't have the best reliability reputation and that I spotted obvious problems on the vehicle. I noticed one of the air shocks had obvious leaks on it, since that corner of the vehicle was sitting far lower than any other corner, I expressed concern over various other electrical components of the vehicle, and was assured constantly that if anything was wrong, their technicians would have fixed it during their "rigorous inspection". What a joke. I drove the car for half a day, and then went on vacation with my family. When I came back I tried to open to the sunroof and it didn't open. I should have tried opening the sunroof on the lot, but since this was my first time opening it, I don't think it was a coincidence that it suddenly didn't work anymore. Leaks in the suspension have only gotten worse as well. I emailed and called the sales person I worked with multiple times and she never returned any of the calls or emails. So I eventually called the used cars sales manager who got back to me quickly. He seemed nice, and empathetic and told me to bring the car in asap. So I brought it in the next day. He had me bring it to their service shop to look at it, where some dude promptly looked at it for a whl,e of 5 seconds before he said, we don't work on foreign cars, you're going to have to take it somewhere else. If you don't work on foreign cars, how are you supposed to "rigorously inspect" a vehicle and then fix any problems on it? This guy recommended me to a european shop - who has actually been a whole lot better than them - so they give me the address to go to, and tell me he's expecting me. I get there, and this guy has had no heads up that I was sent over there. He has to call to the dealership multiple times to try and get a hold of the service guy and Jon to figure out what he's supposed to do. About an hour later one of them calls him back and tells him the sunroof isn;t working and he needs to look at it. This guy at the shop is a pretty nice guy, does customer service well, and genuinely seems sorry that they didn't call ahead or do anything and that they just threw me "into the wolves". So this guy tells me that he has to do a little research on parts and that he'll call the used car sales manager, Jon, about it since Jon said they would cover it. Well from there on out I played phone tag with Jon for 3 weeks. I called him every other day asking him if he had heard from the shop, all the time him saying he hadn't. Then I called the shop and the guy who I had been dealing with said he has left him multiple messages ( i tend to believe this guy much more since he's getting paid by this dealer, so why wouldn't he be trying to contact him for a quick job?) Finally, 3 days ago after calling him every day in a week and leaving messages he gets back to me and says, "I'm sorry, I've been out of town for a week. We will only cover half the job now" Oh really you've been out of town? Why would you constantly tell me that you would call me back the next day? He constantly seemed like he was just trying to blow me off and was hoping I wouldn't call back. And then to renig on a deal where he says they'll cover the repairs and suddenly won't? At that point I was so fed up and just wanted it taken care of. I could either have said no to the deal and paid way more out of pocket or just dealt with it. I chose to dealt with it, since I couldn't get my sunroof to close, and since this car is my daily driver, I could never take it out in snow or rain. Which really isn't going well since I have to work and go to school full time.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By AlysonTallman on 12/7/2012 at 8:22 AM. Helped by Keith Smerchek.

After getting the run-around several times from Volvo costumer care 1-800 numbers, I was fed up. I decided to take my car into Rickenbaugh to see if anyone was willing to listen and help me. Keith Smerchek, part of the service department at Rickenbaugh, greeted me with a warm hello, and I immediately felt like I was going to (at least) get an answer for my problem. Not only was Keith friendly and helpful, but I felt he genuinely cared about the issue I was having. He could tell I was a bit deterred at this point, spending countless days trying to find anyone who cared enough to at least point me in the right direction. He went above and beyond. Never have I encountered such great costumer service from any service department regarding any car I have ever owned. He told me what needed to be done, and what I could do to achieve this. He kept in contact with me throughout the day as he inspected my issue. What I thought might be a week+ long process, turned into a short days work. Keith Smerchek accommodated me in every way possible, and kept me informed and made sure I had a clear understanding of the situation. After almost six months of trying to resolve this issue, Keith Smerchek took care of me in half a days work. I am so thankful for him, and his service he provided to me. I will be referring my friends and family to him, since we are all Volvo-lovers. Rickenbaugh is the only place I will take my car into now. The whole staff was amazing and comforting. I am thankful I made the choice to stop in because now I have a place I can trust with my beloved car, anxiety-free. Overall, the whole experience was amazing. I don't usually take time out of my busy schedule to write reviews, however, Keith Smerchek earned it, and anyone who reads this, I highly recommend talking to Keith about any service department issues you may have. All in all, great experience. Rickenbaugh has a loyal costumer from this point on. Never been so satisfied with the treatment I received. Also, the courtesy shuttle driver to took me home while the problem was being resolved was amazing as well. I wish I could remember his name. If you come to Rickenbaugh, I can assure you, you will be more than pleased with the service you were provided with.

I would recommend this dealer.

Problems with purchasing a new Volvo. My wife and I are in the process of buying a new Volvo XC70, via the Costco Auto Purchase program. We were put in touch with one of the salespeople at Rickenbaugh (Bud) and he made a quick initial contact. From there, no response to email questions about the process and the car (two emails asking about the timeline for purchase and differences between trim packages). We live 3.5 hours drive away from the dealership, so internet interaction is required. Disappointing - this is a large purchase for us, and we expected better. We have been referred by Costco to another dealer who is providing excellent support. Two stars for the quick initial response.

By Thomas Rennie on 5/14/2012 at 9:14 PM. Helped by Blaze and Norm.

I purchased my new SRX in the Spring of 2010 from Coulter Cadillac. At the time I was quite satisfied with the quality of the vehicle, the sales team, and the subsequent service. I moved to Denver, Co. in the Fall of 2010 and had occasion to seek service at my local Cadillac dealer, Rickenbacher Cadillac. All service was performed flawlessly thanks to service director, Norm Fryer. When I had a problem with the chrome finish on my wheels and lower trim, I personally contacted the service manager, Blaze Flaherty. He patiently listened to my concerns and told me he would contact the regional Cadillac representative and get back to me promptly. Several days later, Blaze called me and informed me that Cadillac would replace all of the parts in question at their expense where ever I would like the service performed. As I had returned the vehicle to Phoenix, I elected to have my original dealership, Coulter Cadillac, do the work. I contacted Coulter Cadillac Service Manager, Jon Thorne, who entrusted this task to his ever able assistant, Ed Stralko. As all Cadillac personnel preceding him, Ed was extremely professional and to the utmost helpful. He continued to make this entire process as easy on me as possible, demonstrating that the total Cadillac experience is luxury, from the quality of the product, to the exceptional customer service.

I have to say, after reading the other reviews/seeing the scores, I can only conclude that most of Rickenabugh's clients are so thrilled they don't need to advertise it on the site. Also, other dealerships heavily promote this site to inflate their positive comments, but Rickenbaugh focuses on service & quality. Anthony was WONDERFUL to work with- he quickly related the vehicle to my life, features to what he thought I'd use them for and put himself in my shoes. He's solid on facts, commitment and follow-through. Anthony Moore exemplifies customer service and I'm really pleased with the 2011 SRX!!! Thanks for everything Anthony!!!!

By OntheBall on 2/12/2010 at 4:04 PM. Helped by Decline to say.

I was a loyal RICKENBAUGH service customer taking my car in even for oil changes for many years. One service call required that they remove my dashboard. On my way home that evening, I hit a bump on the road and the ashtray popped out. I figured they made a mistake when they were re-installing the dashboard but no big deal. I would just have them fix the ashtray on my next visit. That was my mistake. The next month when I took the car in for regular service, the service rep was skeptical that I was telling the truth. They wanted $150 to replace the spring that holds the ashtray. I was incensed and asked to speak to the manager. The manager thought I was making the whole thing up and would not budge. He said that I should have reported it immediately. When I asked how long I could have waited and still have him accept my word, he said one day. Their service warranty is worth one day. Instead I told him I would tell one person about my experience for every bump I hit. I'm proud to say that I've dissuaded four customers from continuing to use their service department and two customers from buying cars from them. And BTW, if you want the same dealership quality at significant discounts, check out Volvo Specialists. They're a couple of miles away on Santa Fe between Alameda and 6th Ave.
