Rio Vista is by far the best car dealership around. Oscar was fantastic from the beginning! He kept in contact with me regularly on updates of the car I was purchasing and what he needed from me. I applied for a 2014 Chevy Cruze and walked away with a 2017. Thank you SO MUCH Rio Vista for helping me purchase my first brand new car ever! I absolutely love it! You guys are fantastic! Keep up the good work!

A Nice Surprise!

I had long ago given up on the idea that there were still car dealers out there who cared about anything but getting a sale. Well, Rio Vista Chevrolet is that dealership that does it the old fashioned way by making sure to take great care of their customers. I just purchased a new Silverado and I was literally shocked throughout the process by the fact that they continued to put my needs first. From the start they calmly said yes to relieving every concern that I raised and then exceeded almost every one of those promises. I couldn't be happier and I am also pleased to see that the days of personal and caring service at car dealerships is not dead after all.

Found a great group of sales professionals

Oscar, Rob, Samuel and Erick in Finance were very professional and accommodating. Oscar called me knowing I was driving nearly 100 miles and asked if I liked Tri-Tip! The quality experience from start to finish is the way buying a vehicle should be. The entire experience was simple, no hassle and relatively quick. I highly recommend Rio Vista to anyone looking for a positive experience.

I have made my fair share of vehicles purchases in my life, Rio Vista Chevorlet is EXCEPTIONAL! Oscar Sanchez was my salesman, he is friendly, professional and honest, there were no high pressure sales tactics. I live 207 miles away from the dealership, my Corvette was a birthday present to myself. Oscar went above and beyond to get the car delivered to me during a time that they had a shortage of delivery drivers. He personally drove the 207 miles four hour drive from Santa Ynez to Moreno Valley, that is true customer service and that doesn't happen in this day and time anymore. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them you will not be disappointed, this dealership goes beyond just car sales they are building lifetime relationships. They are an Excellent representation of the GM brand that I grew up with. Thank you Oscar!!!

Purchased a hard-to-find car

We had been looking for a low mileage used Suburban 2500 LT (3/4 ton) for over a year. Problem is they quit making them in 2013, so they are very difficult to find. Rio Vista Chevrolet posted one for sale on-line, and we contacted Jimmy Sanchez (sales at Rio Vista) right away about it. We live four hours away and couldn't make it there until the next day afternoon to test drive and make a decision. Jimmy agreed to hold the car for us because we explained that other Chevy dealerships (including one in Irvine, CA) had been unwilling to give us a chance to get there to purchase other 2500's in the past. There were three separate times (by other Chevy dealerships) that these hard to find cars were sold out from under us when we were first to inquire about them over the phone and had asked to hold them until the next day. Jimmy and Rio Vista were great to work with. Since I responded to the ad as soon as it posted and the deal had to happen so fast (over a weekend), the car was not yet completely ready to drive off the lot. Still needed the CPO inspection, a couple very minor repairs, etc. So we drove there, traded our car in, did the paperwork, and Rio Vista gave us a 2016 loaner Suburban to drive for the entire week and delivered our newly purchased car right to our doorstep with a full tank of gas the next Friday. Excellent service, and kept their word on what they would offer and what they would do for us. Even gave us a bottle of wine with the new car! We may be four hours away, but they will have a shot at our business every time we are in the market to buy.

Made car buying easy with no pressure and no hassles. Answered questions. Disclosed all fees up front. Friendly, helpful and courteous. We drove 5+ hours to deal with these gentlemen because we were impressed by the online prices, responsiveness and professionalism. We will come back next time we purchase a vehicle!

Outstanding from first email to driving away with new truck

This is a very professional and friendly organization, I first interacted with Oscar Sanchez online and he was superb in developing an attractive deal for me and allowing for a trade-in. He answered my email late at night so I could arrange to travel to the dealership. Oscar met me at the dealership when I came in and made sure the vehicle was exactly what I wanted. He had already prepared all the paperwork and there was no hard sell on any of the extras (I decided on my own to get the extra warranty protection). Eric who took care of the paperwork was a pleasure to deal with and efficient with the details. A great team.

Drove a Long Way...Totally Worth It!

Spent a lot of time on the phone with Oscar prior to making a 3 1/2 drive. He was even available to answer questions the night before well after normal dealership hours. There were a lot of promises made the day before we made the drive to the dealership and Oscar delivered on every one of them. His brother Jimmy made the financing smooth and easy. It's an old school dealership where there's low pressure and high integrity. I would highly recommend them and only wish they would move to Santa Cruz.

Great Service

I just purchased a certified Volt from Rio Vista Chevy, and the service was great. They are about 120 miles from where we live, but they had a Volt with just the right mileage and features. The price on the car was good, and they gave us a good value on our trade in. I would definitely recommend Rio Vista to friends.

I give Samuel Ibarra a 5 star rating because he always goes above and beyond to find what I'm looking for he has great customer service and just the all-around likeable guy. Rio Vista is the only dealership I shop at they have a wonderful staff they make me feel comfortable and take great care of us I have bought 2 trucks this year from Sammi and hope to get another one at the end of this year or beginning of next year call me when you get that Colorado in Sammi! ??????

More like a practical joke at my expense than a car buying

Wow. Just wow. Short version: The car that I (and a return driver) drove hours to purchase, based on their assurances that it was in perfect working order and didn't have a scratch on it, was dented. They knew I was driving hours to see and possibly purchase the vehicle. When I arrived they claimed it had been dented overnight. Here's the fun part: I called that morning to say I was on my way. So, not only did they fail to call to let me know about the damage before wasting hours of my time, the time of my co-driver, and my gas money. They also did not tell me about the damage when *I *called *them while I was en route to see the car. After I arrived, however, they did seem to suggest I could pay to have the dent taken out. So, there's that. Honestly, I can't tell if this was a car buying experience or an elaborate practical joke at my expense. If this is the Chevrolet experience, I can honestly call it ... impressive. I'm truly impressed by what a bad experience they provided. Long version: I'm not local to Buellton and I'm very busy with work. In fact, they are hours away. I made all of that very clear to them in multiple calls. I spent about a month talking with sales staff at Rio Vista Chevrolet to make sure that the vehicle they had not only met my needs and desires but was -- according to them -- in excellent physical and aesthetic shape. The salesman told me the car was Certified and had passed a 172-point inspection, that he had personally inspected it for any physical blemishes and "couldn't find a mark on it." The car was a late model Volt with low miles and fully optioned. They worked with me on the price and reached a number that I felt was very fair. For the car they were describing, it was a deal worth the drive. With their assurances, I scheduled the trip to have a look and test drive it. I fully expected to purchase the vehicle. Because of my work and home schedule, it had taken a few weeks before I could arrange to drive down with another person (I wasn't going to trade a vehicle). I submitted information to the dealer online for credit pre-approval and called en route to let them know I was coming. I spoke with a live person (Rob) and left my phone number for Maynard, the salesman I'd been working with. Several hours later, we arrived. The car was out front -- and dented in the front middle of the hood. There also appeared to be chips in the paint there that were painted over. Two of its polished wheels on the left side had minor curb rash and the center of the steering wheel was not properly centered. Honestly, I wouldn't have mentioned the wheels or steering wheel if the car hadn't been described as not having a mark on it. I met Maynard -- who had previously told me that they would put the car in back to hold it for me when I came down. Upon seeing me, he told me that the car that had been dented while sitting out near the road during the night. He said that they have a dent guy who could fix it for about $80. I saw all that in the first three minutes. No one bothered to mention any of it to me on the phone before I wasted my time, gas money, and the time of my driving partner. And weeks of time researching vehicles to conclude, based on what they told me, that this one was worth the trip. Because we'd driven hours to see and likely purchase this car, I did test drive it - dents and all. I had asked them to fully charge the vehicle in advance of my arrival and both Maynard and Rob assured me that would happen. A full charge in that car should show more than 35 miles -- the car showed 28. And during the test drive, the car had a rattle coming from somewhere behind the driver side dash. I suppose I could have made a stink at the time. My personal belief is that you learn about people when you leave them to do what they would naturally do of their own devices -- without yelling or coersion. They offered me $250 off the price of the dented, rattling car that I'd driven hours to see based on their assurances that it was in great shape, without a mark on it. Whenever the dent happened, before or after it was charged, they did not call me to let me know of any new concerns. And, astonishingly, did not mention it when I called them while en route and left my phone number. Also, while they might have, I don't remember anyone apologizing to me or my co-driver for the day they wasted. Granted, that wouldn't have helped the situation. But it would have shown some quality of their character. Oh, and because I filled out their loan pre-approval application online before coming down there's a chance they pinged my credit and knocked it down a notch for my trouble. Collateral damage on top of collateral damage. It's five days later. And the car is still listed online as undamaged. Truly impressive. I hope my experience is not indicative of Chevrolet dealer management.
