Poor Service / No call back.

By rfmcnair on 9/2/2018 at 2:26 AM. Helped by Ryan (Service Writer) , Wes Overton (No call back on severals calls).

As a long time, resident of Carrollton, I have to say I never seen a business that disrespects their customers as Scott Evans Dodge. I have an issue that could have been resolved over a week ago if the manager Wes would have called me back, as I requested. Since I am having to type this letter you can tell I have yet to receive a call from a single person, checking on my concern. So, here we go we took my son’s used Jeep that we purchased from Elite Motors in Carterville to Scott Evans Dodge, because it was closer to home. We noticed we had a recall for the airbag, so we took it to Scott Evans Dodge ask the Service writer to also check on why the heat is not working. Service writer called us back to tell us we have a bad radiator and thermostat and that would cause the heat to not work. He also said we need back brakes, rotors and oil cooler and oil change. Now remember we only went for recall and to check on heat. There were no signs that we had any leaks, but not being a mechanic, we trusted Scott Evans Dodge that the radiator would fix the heat in my son’s Jeep because the new Radiator was going to cost us $1248.00. We agreed to the new radiator because we needed heat. We received a call from Service Writer that car was ready for pick up. Got to dealer to be surprised that if the heat stops working we would need a $1350.00 heating core. Son got home to find there is no heat. I called Service Writer who could hear my concern said we can take $100.00 of the insulation of the Heating Core, but you said the radiator was the problem. Later that night my husband received a call from Service Writer that maybe the radiator needed burped to bring it back which we did. I followed my son to Scott Evans Dodge because we thought the Jeep would need to be left, but not the case. Writer told son to have a seat, so I was waiting in my car outside. Writer pulled Jeep over to the shop, raised hood, mechanic turned a few screws wiped down motor, drove Jeep around building and came back yep, core is clogged. Now remember what I seen while sitting in my car he didn’t do nothing that could tell the core was clogged. So as I am disgusted with Scott Evans Dodge diagnosis we drove our car to Elite Motors in Cartersville. Elite Motors was able to quickly diagnosis the issue as “Blend Door Motor” and not the HEATING CORE. I agree to have it fixed and have oil change, did not need an expensive OIL COOLER, and was able to get brakes and rotors for $783.00 total. Since Scott Evans Dodge mis-diagnosed the HEATING CORE I starting thinking if they mis-diagnosed HEATING CORE then it was possible we did not need the radiator. I called Scott Evans Dodge to get reimbursed for the insulation of the radiator since I was originally told it would fix heating issue in Jeep. The paperwork provided from SCOTT EVANS DODGE, states if you have any issues that kept you from having truly exceptional service experience, please call 770-834-5050 sincerely WES OVERTON. I have been trying to speak with Wes for over a week with no return call. I was going to go see Wes on Friday August 24, 2018 and was told by Service Writer that Wes was off today. My next call will be to Wes Manager ROGER. I would not be posting this message if the manager respected their customers as they say in their letter with bill. I encourage everyone to stay away from Scott Evans Dodge unless you plan on paying for service you do not need or get a second opinion. In briefly speaking with friends and family we expressed this disgusted with Scott Evans Dodge and the awful experience they had to. This is truly poor, poor service Scott Evans Dodge. The cost at SCOTT EVANS DODGE Radiator $1241.74 Rear Pads and Rotors $550.00 Oil Cooler and Oil Change $660.00 Tune Up $359.00 Heating Core $1350.00 Total $4,160.74 Cost at ELITE MOTORS Oil Change $42.93 Blend Door Motor $451.30 Brake Kit $257.99 Total $783.12 You see so you do the comparison and why I want a refund for a mis-diagnosis on the radiator.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Unprofessional and downright deceitful

By ADillon on 4/21/2018 at 7:34 PM. Helped by Bruce, Skyler, Robbie.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I cannot express how unprofessional and downright deceitful they are. I made an appointment to test drive a car, drove over an hour to get there, and had to wait 2 hours before the owner returned with the car. He was running errands with it. We ended up buying the car because my son loved it. We wrote a check for it, and they promised to send the second key when the check cleared. They sent a key about 2 months later, and it did not work. They stated in writing they would reimburse us to have the key reprogrammed. But when the time came, no payment. No one would ever return my phone calls. I called relentlessly, everyday, multiple times a day. We finally received partial payment, but they still owe us $150. Do not purchase from them if you expect any service after they get your money. Better yet, do not purchase from them at all.

Service Department half xxx, they dont care about you or yo

By travdogg770 on 12/29/2017 at 3:42 PM. Helped by Denver and some Lazy xxxxxxx.

to make it short, I was basically just pushed through the line. there for a second opinion, they rebalanced my wheels and tires again and Denver told me unfortunately " that's how these trucks ride" xxxxxxxx! this is my 3rd 3500 dually . truck actually rides worse after they got done. also, requested that I'd like to pay for a wash or detail,.,. The other smug xxxxxxx at the service desk kinda laughed and asked what kind of time frame I had? Really you lazy xxxxer! I scheduled an appointment! SO,,,, instead no one called me to say the truck was ready. I just came back 6 hours later to find truck parked in a mud hole out back. Disappointed to say the least. good luck,,, they definitely didn't earn my business. I live 15 miles from this dealer. I'll be driving 75 miles from now on to Covington for service & sales

Glad I drove over from Atlanta

By For bikes, camping on 7/6/2017 at 6:14 AM. Helped by Rob Parrish.

Saw a new 2016 Promaster City Wagon (passenger) on the Internet. Made an appointment with Rob for a test drive. Had an older model trade-in. Negotiations took a while. Rob was very helpful and patient through the whole process. Didn't need financing. Drive in to drive out, took about 3 hours,. As I was headed back home in the new Promaster City, I realized that overall it had been an enjoyable afternoon. Rob was pleasant to work with, I got the vehicle I wanted at a really good price and I got a fair price for my trade-in.

I would recommend this dealer.

Poor Customer Service, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, and

By Honest Buyer 615 on 7/3/2017 at 1:35 PM. Helped by Garold, Jeff.

I recently went to this dealership to buy a 16 Challenger, that was leftover. I drove all the way from Nashville, TN which was a 4 - 1/2 hour drive late Friday evening. To keep it short, I would not ever go to this dealership ever again, and would not recommend them to anyone either. They insulted me, by saying things like " You were lucky you got approved" or " Do you know how buying a car works". Next I had the finance manager threaten my credit score if I had just walked away and that I would be blacklisted by other dealerships. I still bought the car, but I will refinance with another lender. I also reported my issues with dodge, and hopefully something will happen to this guys. I would have just went somewhere else if I hadn't driven 5 hours and really wanted the car. The whole time I was told lies and I will definitely correct some of them in the coming weeks. My advice is try the dealers in ATL and try your luck there.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Bait and Switch Scam

By RUiii on 6/26/2017 at 11:48 PM. Helped by Craig and Scott.

I have been a loyal customer of Dodge for the last 20 years, bought my first New Ram in 1996 and have owned nothing but Dodge since then. I found a 2016 Ram at this dealership and struck a deal. The dealer promised delivery on June 21, I was contacted by the dealership on June 22 asking why I didn't come in to pick up the truck. I said the truck is suppose to be delivered. The receptionist said OK let me check. The salesman then called ad said I am so sorry, we will have the truck delivered tomorrow June 23, so I said you have to deliver before noon because I'll be going home to Tennessee over the weekend, he said no problem I will call the driver right now and have the truck delivered first thing tomorrow. Friday comes and NO TRUCK, I called and called and finally got hold of the salesman and was advised that the delivery drivers had broke down and were stuck along the highway and would not be able to deliver the truck as planned. I then got a text advising me that the manger would like to deliver the truck to me on Monday June 26th. I wasn't happy about this news but finally agreed..... When 1:00 rolled around and I still had not heard from the dealership, I called and was advised that the truck had damage from RATS that chewed through the wiring harness. I was shocked to hear that a brand new Ram pickup had RATS in it. I was then offered what I can only assume is a bait and switch deal. The Truck I was buying and had agreed to the price on was not going to be available due to RAT damage, but I was offered a similar Ran with less options and was not the color I wanted for the same price. I spoke to the manager Craig, who was very nice and contacted me a couple times but couldn't due much as he claimed that he didn't have the authority. I was then put on the phone with the OWNER and advised yes the truck I wanted had rat damage and that I could take the offered truck, I said the price difference from the internet to what you are offering is $2,000.00, so take the $2,000.00 off and he said I cant lose that much money on this truck, I said OK take $1,000.00 off and he said no, I told him that I had spoke to a local attorney and he said "You mean my friend" I said I am not sure who you are friends with but this is Bait and Switch and Georgia has very strict laws regarding Bait and Switch. He said I do not have to due business with you and after we talked for a while I was advised by the owner we have nothing left to discuss, I advised that I would write reviews and also contact Chrysler, he said you mean you would hurt my business, I said yes, what your doing is wrong........ I was really looking forward to this new Ram, I am now looking at Fords..... Dodge lost a loyal customer because of this one dealership, and their method of conducting business. Warn your neighbors and friends, BTW I was advised that the truck I was offered with RAT damage would be sold as new and untitled and the buyer would not be aware that they was purchasing a lemon........ This is wrong.

Buyer beware

By Rockmedows on 2/26/2017 at 3:06 AM. Helped by Sales.

Very dishonest management went in to buy a preowned truck for 29995,when the paper work was being processed the truck magically transformed into 35995. A 6000 difference. Was there all day. Manager said that the 29995 was a typo. Finance guy said that the shop changes ties and brakes and added another 6000 on to the price of the truck. They tell you one price just to bait you. To get you in and then that's when they try to rip you off. Even the salesman and woman told me that they do it all the time with deceptive prices. So buyers beware. Should be a law against that type of behavior. I will complain to the office of consumer affairs and the I team

By joshuajack on 2/24/2013 at 5:30 PM. Helped by Sylvester.

I was recommended Scott Evans through a friend. The experience started out positive with a wonderful sales manager directly working with me due to some credit constraints (first car loan). From that point the relationship went down hill. The manager was moved to another site and I was forced to work with another salesman and manager. All of a sudden all former agreements went out the window. Vehicle prices went up, incentives went down. I need to see numbers on paper and this was not provided. Matter of fact, the salesman told me he doesn't ever see numbers so I shouldn't ask. Really? If you have really excellent credit and want a Dodge, maybe this is your place, but if you have a need a bit of help, find another high quality used car reseller. All I walked away with was 5 more inquiries on my credit report.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By NitroandLibertyGirls on 12/6/2011 at 3:06 PM. Helped by Ken, Jessica.

My partner and I went to Scott Evans Dodge to inquire about a specific vehicle on their lot. The salesperson, Jessica, was very nice; however, after looking at the vehicle we went to see, I decided I did not like it for various reasons. At that point Jessica began trying to sell us a vehicle that was about $15,000 over our budget (which she would not have known because she NEVER even asked me my budget.) She never asked what I liked/disliked about the car we went to see, she just immediately began trying to sell me a $40,000 vehicle. Meanwhile, someone was valuing my trade in. I explained to Jessica I did not want to spend $40,000 on a vehicle and tried to inquire about other types of cars they might have had, but she and Ken kept going through the motions, writing up paperwork, asking how much I owed on my trade, etc... I had to spell it out for her "I HAVE NOT PICKED A VEHICLE HERE AND I AM NOT SPENDING $40,000 ON ONE, STOP WRITING UP PAPERWORK" At that point, Ken came in to the cubicle and didn't even introduce himself before saying "OK, OK, who is the car salesman in here, me or you?"(I got his name from his name tag). UHHHH, WTF? Really? Needless to say, the next words out of my mouth were "That's my cue to leave" These people are just dirty salespeople, using the same old pushy tactics. They don't care about finding the right car for YOU, just pushing you into buying A CAR, ANY car. I immediately went to DOUGLAS COUNTY DODGE, about 15 miles away and spent the $30,000 that was burning a hole in my pocket on a new 2012 Jeep Liberty. I have bought 2 cars from Douglas County Dodge now, and couldn't be happier with their salespeople. Go there instead of Scott Evans, you won't be disappointed!!!

Ive done business with Scott Evans Dodge for several yrs. now. I was just in the service department recently and was very impressed with the speed and courtesy. The technician that worked on my car was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what was going on with my car. The repairs were done in minimal time and I had the pleasure of meeting the new service manager, Fred. He was so nice, very knowledge and very involved through the entire repair process. I am confident that anyone else entering the service department for repairs will receive the same exceptional customer service that I received!
