Horrid Customer Service

By Chevy Chris on 6/23/2016 at 1:06 AM. Helped by Anthony, Drew Anzalone.

In short our expertise at SeaCoast Chevrolet a DiFeo family owned dealership was horrible. General Sales Manager Drew Anzalone was firm in being discourteous, unyielding, rude and unapologetic toward us regarding our issues; going as far as to tell us “we just want to be done” and that “it would have been better to sell the car to someone else.” All the while accusing us of not being able to be happy, he never once thought to ask us what would make us happy. The rest of the staff there have been nothing but curious and some even seem to share our issue with Mr. Anzalone. As of this review and several e-mails to management we are still waiting for someone to ask us how we can feel happy. A couple of months ago my girlfriend and I went about looking to replace my 2010 Camaro with a newer version that was convertible. We did our research and looked at several different Certified Pre-Owned Camaros in the area and ultimately made our final choice at SeaCoast Chevrolet. The car had some minor body issues with childish pin stripping and amateur applied alterations. They agreed to remove them and we were issued a “we owe” slip for the missing key and key fob. Two days after picking up our CPO Camaro we took a road trip to Daytona Beach, FL. We noticed things like the floor mats were missing, a small interior door trim piece was missing and the body was all scuffed up everywhere the pins tipping was. We notified the dealer and they agreed to replace the missing floor mats and resolve the other issues. We waited approximately two weeks for the keys to show up and another week or so for the mats to show up; at that time we went to the dealer in order to pick it all up and show the scratches. We were handed two actual keys without fob and floor mats from an Amazon box. We were told that they were only required to give us two keys and one fob and that was final. We complained to GM and have gone back and forth with issues. The “we owe” paperwork that would clear up the key fob issue has gone missing; which is in line with the CPO worksheet not being completely filled out, although they have an RO that shows some of the issues repaired other issues still remain. There are many more conversations and emails and problems but in the interest of keeping this short; I’ll say that beware of CPO vehicles they are not all the same and some dealers seem to spend more time on them in our experience than this one. On a side note I've been a Chevrolet and General Motors customer for most of my driving life. I've owned several Camaros, a Cobalt, Caddilacs, a Saturn and more. I've personally flown the GM banner and supported the brand in good times and bad. This experience has obviously impacted my allegiance to the brand. While the dealership may not be GM they are an arm of the company and represent it to the people. While Drew several times told us he would rather not have sold us this car -or taken ours in trade even though it is currently for sale at the dealership- he did; and all we want is to be happy with our CPO Chevrolet.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Sales and Service Dept need an education

By Danielle on 8/26/2015 at 5:29 PM. Helped by Peter (service), Drew (GSM).

I leased a 2015 Chevy Cruz back in December 2014. I just turned in a 2011 Cruz and was happy with it. The current model is a diesel and thats where the problem begins. First of all, the salesman didn't ask me if I ever owned a diesel before. I would have said no and hopefully he would have explained the differences. As it was, I did ask the difference and he said outside of the fuel, there is no difference. Well there is. It starts with diesel needs an additive called diesel exhaust liquid which needs to be added. No one there could explain how, when to add this liquid. Sales and service guessed but told me to read the owners manual. What a well trained staff they have! In the last 30 days the check engine light has come on twice. First time to update something and second time a sensory device (or something). They called me to tell me that they needed an OK from GM to perform this work and it would take several days. I asked for a loaner and was told you need to reserve them ahead of time. WOW! ahead of knowing I have a problem?????? Mind you the car has only 7000 miles on it. Recently, the 3rd visit was due to an idiot light coming on indicating my % of that liquid was low? I wnet to the service dept and was told depending on how you drive you need to monitor this % of liquid. How idiotic is this? I was told you can add this liquid yourself so I purchased a 5 gallon jug for $50.00. The parts dept guy said to me oh you own a diesel pickup? I said NOOOOOOOO a cruz. He said well why are you buying this? I asked the service guy (after purchase) How and where do I add this liquid? He said, "READ THE OWNERS MANUAL!" Can you imagine that. No one could explain how to add, when to add.....What kind of nonsense is this? I spoke to the GM but it turned out he was the General Sales Manager and he indicated they didn't have a GM at this dealership. To sum it up, DON"T BUT or LEASE A DIESEL CAR! especially from a place that can't explain it. In closing, Peter needs to learn some manners.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Patrick Catena of Sea Coast Chevy deserves your business.

By ChristopherWhalen on 4/27/2014 at 1:54 PM. Helped by Patrick Catena, Chris Buffardi, Drew Anzalone,.

My experience at Sea Coast, and with salesman Patrick Catena, was one of the best car buying experiences my family has ever had. My daughter needed a car and we had visited 4 other dealers last week test driving. Patrick was the first person that we met, and he took us through the entire process from test drive, to financing, to leaving the lot in our new car. Being a CPA and business consultant, I interface with car dealers often for my clients. I urge everyone shopping for a car, to make sure that you give Patrick Catena at Sea Coast Chevrolet an opportunity to give you the same excellent service I received.

I would recommend this dealer.

A few days ago I purchased a new 2014 Chevy Cruze. I stopped into the dealership to check out their used car inventory. I walked into the dealership and was greeted by Patrick Catena. I told him about my situation that I was in with my current vehicle. I was very indecisive about leasing a new car and purchasing a used car, and the entire time, Patrick was very relaxed and patient with me. When the time came to the negotiations Patrick made it very comfortable for myself, which is unheard of in the car business. Overall, I was very impressed and happy with Patrick, and I will be thrilled to send my family and friends to see him.

I would recommend this dealer.

Very friendly, competitive pricing and no last minute additions/surprise charges. The manager greeted me after I had test driven the car on my first visit, and was honest about pricing. Patrick found my car, gave me no pressure and delivered the car with no hassles and no fuss. Highly recommend him, as well as the dealership. No advice on service yet, but I will update when/if my car needs it.

By popvilla on 2/1/2013 at 2:04 PM. Helped by Joe Temples, Tom Hurley.

The entire staff worked hard to find the best deal possible, that included rebates, trade in value and base cost of the truck. Joe Temples is excellent at explaining and exploring with his management, possible options (discounts, financing, etc) for your purchase. Service staff has always been very accommodating to my vehicle service needs, and every visit has been professionally handled with friendliness and expert service.

I would recommend this dealer.

by far, this is the best dealership I've worked with in my 40 years of driving. Vinnie was absolutely perfect. Treated me like I was his sister. Gave me the best deal and the best advice! I will only buy cars from Sea Coast Chevy. I was lied to and cheated by another Chevy dealer (Pine Belt in Eatontown, who is now out of there). My confidence in Chevy was brought back totally by this team of employees. ESPECIALLY Vinnie! I love him. Buy from Vinnie and tell him I highly recommended him!

This is by far the best dealership ever. Darryl was my sales guy and he is genuinely a wonderful sales guy. I am truly pleased with my experience at this dealership as well as with my purchase. He makes miracles happen. He is extremely honest and he sticks to his word. Unlike a lot of dealerships where you get the "run around" and lies, I have not one complaint to say. I definitely recommend this dealership to everyone. I love my car and I love the help I received from Darryl. Thanks so much, Annie

By Jana1 on 9/2/2012 at 11:16 PM.

Our experience buying a car from Seacoast was a complete pleasure. Superior customer service from the time we walked into the showroom to the time we drove off the lot with our new car. What can we say about Darryl Popper? Without his expertise, patience and knowledge we would not have this car. Not only did he help us find the best car for our needs, he dealt with a Mom and teenage daughter duo with such grace. Darryl went above and beyond by giving us detailed advice on how to advance our credit as well. We are truly grateful! Owner Chris Difeo checked in with us each step of the way to make sure we where completely satisfied. His hands on approach with customers really shows his dedication to his business and genuine desire for complete customer satisfaction. Sincerely Grateful, Jana, Glenn and Madison Simons

By nicole.mcelfren on 8/30/2012 at 5:25 PM.

This place was by far the worst experience of my life. I bought a car a year ago that was defective. I gave the dealership a year ( the warranty provided time) to fix the issue. They admitted after a year that this problem they could not fix. They could not find a new car for me. They did not have anything in my price range. They kept hiring and firing people who were dealing with my situation in which I had to keep explaining the situation to new people. I had to speak to the owner . He was nice and offered me options. They found me a new car to replace the old one, one week before I moved across country, after I tried for months to solve the problem. They gave me the new car without approving me. They let me drive it for days in which I packed all my belongings because I was moving. They wiped myold current car payment account clean without telling me and without approving me for a new account. They then said they were not sure if they could get me approved for this new car they gave me.So I had a new car in which I wasnt approved but if I could not get approved would have nothing to go back to!! A day before I had to move across country, they got me approved.Orignally, it was said by the sales manager I would have a car at the same price I was paying for the other. When I went to sign, it was $40.oo more a month! I did not even have a choice at that point but to sign as I was leaving that night to move and did not have a car. I have not even made my first payment to this new car and the transmission is slipping.I cannot call and speak to anyone who knows about my situation because everyone I dealt with a month ago, is already gone. Quit or fired. It is unreal. I would take my word for it and do not purchase anything from there.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Frankdee on 8/25/2012 at 10:04 PM.

I ran accross Mich about three years ago at a chevy dealer in Pt. Pleasant which has since been clased by GM. Mich was verty friendly and personable then however I didn't buy because of concerns about GM going bankrupt and warranty issues etc. Igot the itch for a new car again recently and stopped into Seacoast. There was Mitch now working there. He was very helpful& knowledgeable. The negotiations were fair & friendly, no high pressure, just a dealership wanting to earn my business. I was very satisfied with the price I got and would highly reccommend these folks.

I would recommend this dealer.

By RomansMom on 8/11/2012 at 1:25 AM. Helped by Darryl Popper.

Throughout the past 15 years I have purchased several new cars; some experiences better then others. I have dealt with salesmen whom actually looked slimy and I grew to expect the 6-7 hour wait for bank approval. Let me just say Seacoast Chevy located out of Ocean, NJ broke the mold of my expectations and set the standard HIGH in terms of what a car buying experience should be. I'll be the first to admit my credit doesn't rank amongst the more favorable in most creditors eyes and when I initially called Dr. Popper the only promise he made was "I'll see what I can do"...he didn't fill my head with false hopes and he kept me informed every step of the way. I had called in on a Monday morning and when I arrived at the dealership the following Thursday to take delivery of my new 2012 Chevy Sonic the only I had to do was sign the paperwork! I was literally in the dealership for less then 30 mins and it is such a friendly, warm atmosphere I almost didn't want to leave. I walked in knowing exactly what I was getting and I left wholeheartedly believing I got everything expected and more. I highly recommend Seascoast Chevy to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle; I know who I will be calling in a few years when I will again be in the market for new car. Darryl Popper is unlike any salesperson I have dealt with; he was genuinely excited about my purchase and not once did I question his sincerity. I can't thank him enough...I have been considering get his name airbrushed on my new car!

I would recommend this dealer.
