BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

Absolutely do not buy or trust this dealership! They (Rich Donavich, aka, "Sale Professional", a term they seem to use very loosely at this establishment), had been working with my son who is in the Air Force to buy a car for over 4 days. My son asked if he needed to go ahead and put a deposit down and Rich the salesman said, "no you do not, I will hold it for you, go ahead and get your loan approved first." In the mean time my son went ahead and got approved through USAA and called Rich back today and Rich told him what the final price would be. My son then called back and asked for his email to send over the pre approved email from USAA that Rich needed to fill out. Rich then told my son that someone was there looking at the car and they bought it from RICH!! The same guy that was working with my son, WOW! I then called the dealership myself and talked to Rich and Chris (used sales car manager), who told us they would call us back and that they were trying to get my son's car back. We then received a call back from Rich and Chris and was told that the owner "Norman" ("Boss", nice role model) approved the sale and would not allow them to reverse the sale that was sold from under my son's feet.(Must be a real great guy!! You know Norman, karma) Sell a car right from a kid who is serving our country, yet Norman and his flunkies have the gall to fly the American Flag, what a disgrace! This is how they treat our military men & women. This is an absolute shame my son was so excited for this car that he worked so hard for and saved for. This is an absolute disgrace and I would never recommend this dealership or the folks that work at this side show circus! Funny Norman, how you have time for your customers to make you rich and are sooo busy that you actually have zero time to talk with them, or time for a phone call to help correct something that your dealership did to wrong to a client, yet more so a military person! Funny how money makes one become.. 1

Simple and painless

This was my first time buying a new vehicle all together. I went to the dealership already having done the research and knew which truck I wanted to see and potentially buy. Was promptly greeted by one of the salesmen that was ready to answer to any of my questions and willing to work with me. I had a number in my head that I was willing to pay for the 2019 Ram and the dealer worked with me to reach it. With almost 0 back and forth bantering on trying to lower the price they were able to meet my goal on the price. The truck did have a small couple chips in the paint (could have been done in transit or by a few different ways. Always check over the truck real well!). The salesmen immediately spotted that out and made sure to let us know that it would be fixed at no cost! The small chips are gonna be repaired and I will be given a loner to have while this is happening. The financing department was great too and was plain as day and clear with me to make sure I understood everything. The whole process was great for a first time buying a truck. I would recommend them for sure to anyone looking at the ram trucks. The prices were good and we were treated right!

Such a smooth expierence!

Dave @ Solomons in Carmichael’s was such a great help and made my first car buying expiernece a smooth one and I will always go back to him for any future purchases. He constantly made us laugh and relaxed, & was so relatable. Never made me feel pressured into buying anything and was so flexible and understand with my schedule & always did what he had to do for me! Jason in finance was Also so easy to talk to and again made the whole experience an easy & smooth one! Paperwork is never fun but he made it a blast! Thank you guys so much. Sales staff performance

Had introductions over the phone. But after making the 50 minute drive i was evan more impressed by the down to earth no pressure sales performance by several of the team. Dave Novotney had became my main sales associate and was so please by his performance in taking care of bussiness. Its more people like him we need that brings back good old customer service . I found the car I wanted but was VERY hesitant because I don’t have good credit. They worked hard for me and I ended up with the car and the payment that I wanted! I’m so very happy with the entire process! It was super quick and easy for me. I am extremely satisfied with the sales and finance departments. They were so very polite and helpful from start to finish! They will definitely be my first choice if I ever need another vehicle!!

Today we bought our second vehicle from Jason Mitchell. Both times he was very courteous and was extremely helpful. He made us feel very comfortable and didnt rush us. We then met with Jason Bowlin, the finance manager, who we also dealt with with our first vehicle. He is honest, friendly, and explained everything to us. I would definitely recommend both of them to anyone who is looking to purchase a vehicle. They both are the best to work with!

The only solution

Took my dodge dart to tri star in uniontown 2 or 3 times, and each time they could not figure out the issue and just kept charging me for them to just "look". Took my car to Solomon and in 2 hours they called me and told me the issues and what parts were covered by warranty and set up the service date. Once I dropped my car off they continued to call me during the process with updates that I really appreciated!! My car is now running better then it even did when it was brand new and I can't thank the Solomon team enough.

Honest and fair

They made the two hour trip worthwhile. They were more than fair with my trade-in. Staying within our budget remained the priority throughout the buying process. We went to buy a truck and they didn’t pressure us into anything but what we came for. We are very pleased with the staff at Solomans.

No nonsense dealership

From start to finish the experience was stellar. They will put in the time and work with you to get you into a vehicle. They offered top dollar for my trade and worked with me and the bank to get a great term and rate. They didn’t try to sell me on something I didn’t want or need and the entire staff is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them for new or used cars and trucks in the area.

Incomplete Vehicle Diagnosis / Troubleshooting

Be diligent with respect to servicing any vehicle not a “Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge” even if you purchased that vehicle from this dealership. I live in Carmichaels, and purchased a used vehicle (around $8,200 out the door) from Solomon on 10/21/2017 (less than 60 days ago); used 2008 Volvo S40 with 83k miles on it (not expecting the world out of it, just a daily driver to get me back and forth to work). Yesterday 12/13/17 the Check Engine light illuminated – and based on how recently I purchased the car I took it down to Solomon Auto for diagnostic, with the hope that it was not something too serious as I hadn’t had the car for 2 months yet (had driven 2k miles). On 12/14/17 I received a call that the “Check Engine” light illuminated due to the “Intake Solenoid” – which Solomon Auto indicated that the repair would be between $700-800. I went to Bill Gray Volvo in McMurray (Authorized Volvo dealer) to ask about the solenoid. I was told by the mechanics that Check Engine warnings for solenoid are often the cause of low oil, and I should check the oil before such a costly service. I then Googled “Volvo Intake Solenoid” to see if there were any results for my issue. The 2nd Google result from the website obd-codes.com defined my issue, and listed “Potential causes of diagnostic trouble code may include: low engine oil level” With this information about the oil, I went back to Solomon Auto to inquire as to whether the engine oil was checked – it was not! I was told that since Solomon Auto is a Chrysler dealer, and vehicle is Volvo, they read the code on the diagnostic machine and recommend replacing the parts/system – without looking up any alternative causes or doing any troubleshooting. Subsequent to checking the oil, the car was approximately 1-2 quart low on oil, and an oil change was completed and the light turned off (I drove 50 miles tonight to test drive and it has not turned back on). I recognize that Solomon Auto’s name indicates “Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge” but since I purchased the vehicle from them less than 60 days before, and there is no disclaimer or warning regarding bringing other brand vehicles to the service department – I was shocked that simply “reading the code” and providing me the option of a $700-800 repair was the only solution presented to me. While the service department was willing to work with me in order to follow my “Google Repair Insight” and advice I had independently gleaned from an authorized Volvo dealer – it left me disappointed that the only option presented to me was a significant repair close to $1,000 when it appears all the car needed was a quart of oil (or a $30 oil change). I brought this issue to the attention of the salesman who sold me the vehicle, who then spoke to the General Manager, and I was not charged for the “diagnostic” but simply the $38.90 for the oil change. I recognize that the service department cannot be tasked with knowing every code of every vehicle – but based on the fact I had just purchased the vehicle from Solomon less than 2 months ago, the fact that I live in Carmichaels where the dealership is located, and the fact that the potential repair of $700-800 was a very significant and costly choice – I did expect the service department to attempt to troubleshoot or evaluate potential alternatives, whether that meant calling a Volvo mechanic or looking at the first page of Google to see if there was anything else that could be done. Very disappointed both by the service department’s diagnostic, as well as the lack of service recovery from the General Manager (again, not expecting the world – but a free $30 oil change would have went a long way for my time and efforts in going to a Volvo dealership and diagnosing the issue myself). I will not return to Solomon Auto for any of my automotive needs

Played the numbers game too well

I made a mistake and would and can't do much about it now. The deed is done, but passing along my info to potential customers. To boil it down, I was given numbers on a vehicle and involved was a trade. There was an incentive from the corporation for $1400 if you had a trade. I knew this going in and it was already accounted for in the discounts . I just wanted to hear the exact amount that my trade would be allowed. But when the salesman came back with a trade quote he did some sly math and added the corp incentive with the actual trade allowance and he said I was getting a trade of $1900 (1400 + 500) when it was really only $500. Never once did he say I was just getting just $500. If I would have realized this deception I would have left. Shame on me for not looking at the numbers better. But SHAME on the underhanded use of math to do a slick sell job. I have learned my lesson and will check out who I deal with and have someone along to check the numbers. I will not be using this dishonest dealership again.

I recently purchased a used CPO 2014 Ram from the Brownsville dealership. GREAT DEAL!!! Chad was a great Salesman. He was courteous and knowledgeable. Also there was no pressure at all when test driving or to buy.
