These guys are bunch of liers

I live in Sumner, and have for almost 40 years. The reputation of this dealership is very negative in the local community. There latest logic is every dealer pays the same price so therefore they are going to charge you basically the same and they apply this "logic" to new and used cars as well. The warranty is worth say $600. Oil changes for life, well since few locals buy from them they realize to save $30 most people are not willing to go more than say 5 miles out of there way. Bottom line is you will pay thousands more to get a $600 warranty. I say buy elsewhere and if you are inclined buy your own warranty. They are buying the warranties in bulk. Also do your research on auto warranties over the years. Several companies will form a business and sell a pile of warranties and then when the repair bills start staking up they simply close down the business and form a new one and start over. As I write this another Sunset radio commercial is playing how ironic is that.

Worst experience EVER +++ STAY AWAY!

I have purchased hundreds of vehicles both for my peronal use and I used to own a small dealership here in Chico, CA. I have bought online and in person so when I saw online a clean title 2016 Chevy Silverado 4WD with only a reported 12,621 miles over the web sight unseen for $33,200, and had it delivered to my residence in California. Sunset website has enhanced photo's which they call "HD" no damage was visble in these photo's. Also the sales person John Peterson shot a cell phone video and told me several times, there was absolutely no scratches, scuffs, dents or dings on the vehicle... I told him it wouldnt necessarilly kill the deal but I wanted NO SURPRISES. It arrived with 12,879 miles on the ODO a bad business and illegal action. Upon first brief inspection I noticed the front lower bumper had lots of scatches and heavy gouges with grass and twigs and small pebbles stuck in the gap, upon further inspection I found brush scuffs the entire length of the truck on both side except for the rear passenger door and front 1/4 of the bed, I found out later this was because it had been painted. Entire underneath of the truck had dents on the under covers, lots of scrapes and gouges... and rust.I took the truck to my local Chevy dealer body shop and the found repair and paint work that is cracking and failing. I took it to 2 more auto body shops who confirmed the same. Correct repair estimates are from $3600 to $4300 I contacted my sales rep at Sunset Trucks John Peterson and the GM Buzz Nielsen. Mr. Nielsen said I was too picky and I should have known why the price was low... I told him I was very disappointed and wanted to return the truck. He said " Thats not an option " really? why I asked, no decent reply. Bottom line : They sold me a damaged truck with NO Disclosure, saying they could only go by Carfax and Autocheck ...my position is, I find it hard to believe they didnt know, the truck had been on the lot for quite some time and I suppose no onsite buyer would touch it, so lets sell it to this guy in California and be done with it. Their own website says they have a professional 160 point inspection of every vehicle, also the are part of the Sunset family of dealerships including Sunset Chevrolet whom I thought surely would back up the Chevy name. I did my part and paid in full over $33,000 and they failed miserably to do their part before and after the sale. When repairs are final I will have over $37k into this truck plus tax. Final word on Sunset Trucks = STAY AWAY, they lie and they dont care once they have your money! - Kent M. Collins

Canada vehicle warranties are not covered in US

I bought a 2013 Jeep wrangler in January and paid more than it was worth (my fault). The clock spring in the steering wheel recently went out and is going to cost us $600.00 plus to fix. I found out recently that it was a Canada Jeep and that anything under warranty is not covered in the US. I was not told this was a Canada Jeep or that this would be a problem when it was bought. When I called up there, their answer was how do we know what was discussed at time of purchase. Also they said it was not covered under warranty, even though Jeep said if we were the original owner from Canada it would be covered. Also shortly after we bought this Jeep we brought it back for a leaking top which I am told it is a common problem, backfiring and brake problem. They fixed the brake but said they could not find anything else wrong. The top still leaks, hasn't backfired since. When we got the Jeep back they had took the brand new mats out and we didn't notice till later, they had took the owners manual out of the glove box ( which also had our registration in it). We got our $300.00 mats back but had to buy a new car registration. Of course they said they didn't have it. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Car needed repairs 2 weeks after I bought it

So many things went wrong with this transaction, from giving out my personal information to 3rd parties not involved, to them threatening me to pick up my car after having just paid 3460$ I was short 40 and said I could call back the next day, well then I was threatened with this and after threatening to write them a bad review the salesman begged my coworker to pay the money for me without my consent Then to top it off the car needed hundreds of dollars in repairs just 2 weeks after taking the car home Did I mention I was in that dealership for a total of 10hrs? NEVER ever again

Happy owner of a 2011 Duramax

We came in just wanting to look at trucks. Doug took the time to find out what we were interested and had the brought up for us the truck we were looking for. It was perfect and in awesome condition and so much more than we expected. After test driving it and looking at others, we chose the original truck and purchased it that night. Everyone was a great help and it was an awesome experience. Doug did a great job of finding out what we needed and saving us from wasting time looking at trucks we weren't interested in.

We took in a Ford Flex for trade. It went thru service just like every other car we sell. I got the lifetime warranty and we could t be happier. Great car and a great dealership! Definitely worth your time to check out.

I had been looking for a vehicle locally and was not satisfied with any dealership at all. Would always give me the run around because I was a female. I knew what car I actually wanted but the price was never in my budget. I found this dealership and actually found the car I wanted in the first place, and in my budget! David made this entire deal possible for me and in the price range I wanted! Amazing customer service and had everything ready for me when I got there. Would recommend David Otzwirk to anyone! Best buying experience ever!

I've been shopping for a truck for over a month. After visiting a few dealer and talking to numerous salespeople on the phone I stopped at Sunset Trucks. I was greet by a salesman and prepared to be pressured. To my surprise Jacob Wood welcomed me and explained the dealerships philosophy. They offered to find me a truck, show me all the information on price and payments, and the let me go home and think about it. Wow. Exactly what I wanted. He made the process easy and transparent. The sales manager went over the numbers and besides being cheaper than every where else the truck came with a lifetime warranty. They made saying yes easy. Thank you Jacob, Brian, and Sunset. I love my new truck

Scotty Farman is the guy you want if you want someone super knowledgeable and someone that'll work to get you a good deal! I bought my car from him in September and he was amazing throughout the process considering I was super stressed having just totalled my car. Then I reffered my brother in law to Scotty in January and he hooked him up with an amazing truck that my brother in law is obsessed with. Great guy that works super hard for his customers!!

A stress free experience

Shelby Dodson was very helpful getting me into my vehicle. It made the process stress free and not for one moment did I feel like I was being lied to or tricked out of money. I could've have went somewhere else and got my truck a little cheaper but Sunset trucks offered me a life time warrenty. How can you beat that? I will definitely be referring all my friends and family to shelby.

Terrible experience, the worst

I went to purchase 350z 2006 convertible from this place and boy it was the most terrible choice I have made. Let me start off with this. Everyone that I have talk to (sales dudes) "Oh yea it is nice car it has nishi wheels which is 3000 dollars (I researched it it was 150 per wheel..) it is very nice car and the top works fine" However the convertible top was not working, visor was broken and the wheels were 600 from internet not 3000. Second, once you do not have any money as down payment you would not get any type of deals unless you start flashing some stacks of your hard earned money. The 350z that they were offering was 15800 plus tax, which is close to 17300 I have put down 3000 dollars which it brings it down to 14300. After they have agreed upon that price, then you now have to go through the finance manager (his name was Matt Vuchetich). Matt seemed nice guy until he start playing with numbers. He has stated to both my wife and I that it would be hard to get a car loan through any bank with only 14800 dollars amount. So he suggested to get warranty that can fix any electronic problems....after 30 minutes of him pushing he has stated "Well the car is 10 years old I would hate to see you guys leave this place and have problems afterwards....I have agreed but it did occur to me...didnt they told me the car is in good shape? Beside the broken visor and convertible top? I was feeling bit uncomfortable however my wife who was in need of car and wanting to get this 350z it was her dream to drive this vehicle... We left the place with all the documents signed. After that Matt who initally have informed us with our credit he can do 10% APR has dropped some where down to 3.5 or 4.5% Again perhaps due to my 3000 dollar payment and top of that selling me 4 years warranty the company has made their money enough for me to drop the APR down. Due to the top being fixed we didnt get the car until a week later...when we finally got the car, yup the top was all fixed but the top had a hole... *sigh* I was beyond pissed.... Third, we had problem on tire sensor and also the stereo...after 16 days. Obviously this is the future of what Matt have stated...electronic problems...but this is when it gets interesting. When my wife went to the service department to get it fixed, they charged her 136 dollars for diagnose and told her that these are not covered under the warranty. xxx?!?!?! Ladies and Gents...I believe as middle class, we work 50-80 hours a week and when you finally have earned your blood sweating money to purchase your dream car....you have these unethical business minded people who do not give a crap of your time and money. They squeeze, deceive and convince you to spend as much as you can and promise everything. However when the time comes they do not take care of you. Please do your self a favor and do not purchase ANY WARRANTY! Salesmen are your first round to fight with price negotiation afterwards you have to do another round with Matt the finance guy. I was informed by my friend who is the GM over at Doug's Hyundai and after I have told him everything, he said I can take this to attorney and go through all the papers and can make this in to my favors. I have all the records and datas that I can leverage on and I plan to take action. I hope everyone can purchase dream car and not experience what I have gone through.

TEENAGE BUYERS WORST NIGHTMARE

thanks for the worst experience of my life. Not only did they leave me with a whopping 15% interest, but also $10,000 in negative equity. AND a car that broke down less than a month after having it. My growing family wants to thank you from preventing me from being able to buy a newer more reliable car (FOR THE CHILD I AM EXPECTING).

Found the perfect truck the first visit!

After looking at the inventory in the Sumner location Bob Fish suggested we check out the Trucks on River Road. They had the exact used truck we were looking for in our price range. Bob was extremely helpful. This is the second car we've bought from Sunset Chev and we will definitely go back again. Both times we have had excellent sales reps help us.

I had a poor experience speaking with another sales associate when calling back to check on the status of my vehicle, but other than that, the overall experience in dealing with Mark was positive. That takes my review into average territory with an Excellent rating for Mark and a Poor rating for how I was treated by the other sales associate.

I was on sunsettrucks.com looking at a truck. I sent my info and requested they contact me via text. I got an automated response, and that is it. Been almost 24 hours and still nothing. Even had a similar issues with there RV store. I went in there looking for a fifth wheel camper. Told them my budget and what I was looking for. The guy I felt with said he would call me the next day and let me know what they had at both stores. Surprise no phone call. If this is how they do business they will not get mine.
