Scheduled appointment for warranty work

By Joshua1! on 1/11/2019 at 12:39 AM. Helped by Amren Massey, Chris Dickerson.

I made an appointment for 12/21/2018 to have the new F-250 I had recently purchased inspected for a loud rattle in the door and knock in the engine. The service advisor informed me that it shouldn't take too long. Heard nothing back that day so I called Saturday morning, 12/22. I was informed the advisor that I spoke with was off work and that my truck had not been looked at and probably would not be looked at until after the first of the year. I spoke with the service manager who was disinterested. Apparently, "busted sunroofs and blown engines" were a bigger priority. If I needed my truck over the holidays I should come back and pick it up. No apologies for any inconvenience. It would have been nice to know all of this when I scheduled the appointment or at least when I dropped the truck off.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Internet sales SCAM

By Jonisanders on 12/26/2018 at 7:14 PM. Helped by Mo.

This dealership lists cars that are non existent. We traveled 300 miles to see a car. We emailed and called to tell the salesperson we would be there. We got there and the car had ‘just sold’ that morning. The communication was extremely poor as well. The sales people were never available when called. They would call back and leave a message. We would return the call and they didn’t answer. I got an email the day after I visited and asked when i wanted to see the car. I emailed back to see if the car was there and they said yes. SCAM. I would not recommend.

Martin Greenburg Emotional Outburst

By Mr & Mrs Norris on 12/26/2018 at 4:15 PM. Helped by salesman Roger Om consument prof, finance person & Martin Greenburg.

My rating is in regards to a business transaction Dec 20,2018. A misunderstanding about wheels turned into Martin Greenburg entering a conversation he was not involved in & my reaction of dissapontment after being informed I would have to return for a 4th trip from Dallas & (1 1/2hr each way) Greenburg flew off the handle & said " I'm giving you your check back". We were shocked at his demeanor, attitude & actions. I replied ok, that's fine with us because of his attitude & unprofessional rude outburst we agreed. I said if you want to give me back my Towncar & our $33k check we are good with that too . He actually challenged me & began to start an argument stating you said, then you said...I raised my hand, pointed at him insinuating he needed to stop & said I do not like your attitude he interrupted me & remarked " now you are pointing your finger at me & you are the only one talking" as he was raising his voice to argue. I turned away from him & said let's go get my check & my Towncar I am not arguing. That was my Merry Christmas car purchasing experience at David mcDavid. That's what Martin Greenburg did with the oppurtunity of creating a positive experience at the dealership he represents. We have owned Fords/ Lincolns since 1989, this was our 4th Lincoln purchase. This is the respect loyal customers experienced. We had gone to David McDavid within in 10 minutes of our home in Plano but we were wanting to purchase a 2017 Lincoln Continental & ft worth had the one we had decided on. Plano David McDavid treated us like KINGS. Ft Worth made everyone at McDavid look very bad. He left loyal customers feeling regrettable we ever walked into that dealership. We have left 3 messages for the General manager with no return call to date. It's been 5 days, with Christmas in there. If we dont hear back we will continue to pursue the matter contacting whomever needed to ensure Martin Greenburg doesn't treat anyone else this way. It was totally uncalled for, unacceptable & he should be removed from that position interacting with people if he cant control his reactions or negative behaviour. That kinda of negativity is contagious to everyone around him. He has obviously has become complacent with his job & should be reprehanded for it. I sat at the dealership on Wednesday & had to listen to him patronize & demean a customer on the phone for over 30 minutes & when he hung up, I couldn't believe what he said to his coworkers. I would hate to think my job required me to have to suck up to someone like that to keep my job. BTW I believe his "co-partner" was embarrassed because he seem to meander to where I was an apologize....for what happened. I wish we had NOT gotten the car. Our salesman Roger who was outstanding in his demeanor in his appearance & proffesionalisum asked that we proceed with the purchase. My husband said Roger told Greenburg to go away? He disappeared after me telling him we wanted nothing to do with him, especially since he insinuated himself into a situation he had no business with & had no clue what had transpired. He didn't even care to know. He actions were quite intentional & he was very comfortable in behaving that way. It happened so fast & we had invested a lot of time finding a car we wanted. However there a 1000's of Continentals out there for $33k....we were ready to walk away & because of Greenburgs behavior & lack of contact afterwards, we regret the purchase from them. By the time we left Ft Worth & stop to eat in Dallas, our cash check had already cleared the bank. Currently we are still waiting for General manager Steve Mansel to return our call. As we were walking out Martin Greenburg waited until I was almost out the door, past him, & rudley had the gauld to wave, being antagonistic. Proud of his actions. Martin Greenburg definitely isnt a TEXAS native, I just know, didn't ask, I just my opinion 12-26-18 update. We were contacted by the Director of Customer Relations Mike Ackles & I formed Steve Mansel G.M. had been out of town. After discussion of the issue we were assured there would be a follow up as well as contacting the G.M. It was very much appreciated. Within hours Steve Mansel G.M. contacted us. Having said that I do believe his sincerity was genuine. We've been assured of an investigation to ensure Martin Greenburg doesn'ttreat any other consumer as he did us & a follow up phone call. Very much appreciated it hoping the outcome will be a positive one. Remember, "its NOT the problem, it's how you handle it" can determine your growth.

Not What I Expected

By Ford F250 on 12/21/2018 at 4:18 AM. Helped by Chris Dickerson - Service Manager.

Brought my 2012 F250 6.7L to dealer for extended warranty coverage issued by Ford for Check Engine Light and DTC P20BA Reductant Heater and Sender Unit Fault. This was the only code thrown. After they performed the work, the check engine light is still on and DTC P20E (Reductant Pump Failure) is shown. The pump is attached to and sits on top of the Reductant Heater and Sender Unit which they just replaced. This fault was not showing up until they completed the work. They would not take any responsibility for this and it would cost me $740 to fix. In short, brought in for one DTC and left with a different DTC. They didn’t even change the oil as I requested.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Do not expect good customer service at this location.

By Arthur Wright on 10/17/2018 at 4:07 PM. Helped by Jose Carreon.

BEWARE OF MCDAVID FORD! I recently purchased a vehicle from this location and of course didn't want the hassle of taking hours on end. I spoke with Jose Carreon and I had repeatedly said that I wanted to be out of there and we had an agreed upon price of $45k. Things were fine and we finished just over that amount but I wasn't completely upset until I was rushed through the financing (this was in the late evening and I knew I could refinance with Navy Federal Credit Union) but of course I get my first bill from USBANK a month later and realize that financing put almost $10,000 worth of service packages on my vehicle and the price was over $55k for a FORD EXPLORER! Of course I was irate and went to the dealership to clear things up and we discussed things over with Gerald Rollinson (sales manager). As they were speaking, Gerald looks back to Jose and asks if the financing has cleared on the $55k price and Jose says yes. Then Gerald looks at me and says "Well, looks like it's yours then. Take care". I understand they want to make as much money as possible but you'd like to think that customer satisfaction would play at least a small part. I have canceled the service packages but as of now (two months later), it still has yet to be removed from my account. I assume the only way to fix this problem is to speak to a general manager.

sold a lemon literally

By lemon on 10/8/2018 at 7:33 PM. Helped by martin Greenberg.

I purchased a used 2015 Ford F150 with low miles. It was taking a long time to get my plates, I called several times to check and left a message for the lady who takes care of the plates. I was never contacted from her, and ended up going and getting new temporary plates. After I got the new temporary plates I got a phone message, that I needed to sign some papers and to send them back. When I printed the papers that I was asked to sign, it was a Georgia vehicle repurchase\lemon law disclosure. On this sheet it says the reacquired vehicle warranty repair history summary is attached, it was not attached, so I only know the defect was driving performance lack\loss of power. I do not know what was done to fix it and was never offered a warranty. This was never told to me when buying the truck. I sent an email and left a message and still have not heard back from anyone. I'm not really sure what will happen if I don't sign the forms but I don't plan on signing them until I have more information. With this review maybe someone will finally contact me.

No price.

By BC on 10/11/2018 at 9:42 PM. Helped by Joshua Campos.

The first week of October my wife and I were shopping for a new vehicle. We stopped at at David McDavid Ford. Joshua Campos was the gentleman who helped us out. He was very attentive to us and conducted himself in a very professional manner at all times. We returned at least 3 time before making any decisions. We were unable to get a price on the vehicles we were looking at, just a sticker price unless we sat down to to buy the car? What!!! Although we did make our purchase elsewhere, I want to give him praise for a job well done.

Purchase and service nightmare

By JasonN on 10/5/2018 at 5:42 PM. Helped by Chris.

Purchased new diesel truck from David McDavid. I purchased a sprayin bed-liner from the dealer. They used an outside shop to complete this work as many dealers do. When I received the truck back 2 days later, I noticed a 2-3 inch scratch on the outside of the bed of my truck. I brought this to the attention to the service tech when getting my first oil change. The service manager said he would reach out to the shop that installed the bed-liner and call me back. When he called back, he stated that the shop denys they scratched it and the service manager says it wasn’t them either. This was a brand new truck without a scratch on it! He refused to do anything to fix this issue and wasn’t too concerned about my new truck coming out of their dealership with a deep scratch caused by his service department or their contractor’s shop. It is quite frustrating to spend 70k on a truck and not have it in good condition when you take it home. I entrusted the dealership to deliver a level of service that one would expect with a new vehicle purchase, and address issues they caused to the vehicle. After reaching out to the Service Manager, my concerns have all feel on deaf ears. I will not do business with David McDavid again. This experience was surprising to me as I buy a new vehicle every 2-3 years (this was the first time buying David McDavid) and have never experienced such disappointing service from other dealers. I don’t feel that my request to have them fix the scratch they caused was unreasonable, but apparently the $50 it would have taken is more important than taking care of their customers. I hope my experience provides you insight on McDavids standard of service when you are looking for a dealership to buy from or service your vehicle.

Certified Preowned means customer must inspect

By Fort Worth on 9/27/2018 at 3:04 AM. Helped by Mike , Elizabeth.

I bought a car for my wife at this dealership and later discovered that the vanity mirror was shattered. I asked that it be replaced about 10 days after I bought it. The service manager blew me off. Elizabeth told me it would be fixed on the phone and then when I asked about it in person took me to the sales manager, Mike, who said, "Sorry. We inspected the car and it was not broken when sold it to you." This is the same as claiming I am lying. The part is less than $100. You have lost my business and good will.

Over charged for service

By Rps41 on 9/26/2018 at 4:04 PM. Helped by Chris Moran.

I currently have a dispute over a service charge on my 2000 f250 diesel. A labor charge of $447.00 to replace the ICP and pigtail. In checking with other dealers and diesel shops the labor to replace was $135.00. So my complaint is they over charged me by $312.00. Not to mention the parts were 40% higher at dealer than could be purchased a parts store. Same ford parts. BEWARE So this dealer gets a 1 rating. Called 3 times to get dome action, Currently left with service manager Brian. who " will get back to me". I will update is this gets resolved. Brian called to say I was overcharged and is correcting the amount so I am changing my review to reflect the excellent follow up. Update 10/17/18. Refund was approved and communicated it was mailed. As of today no check, after 3 more calls it was stated it was only mailed yesterday due to delay with GM. So how long does it take to get a refund to your customer,, a month? Wow not good service.
