hidden costs

I first want to say that working with Sam was pleasant. He was helpful, kind and had a great sense of humor. Where things became frustrating is when we went to purchase the car. There were hidden fees including the "city package" or the Elo system that we explicitly stated we didn't want. This is something that could have been taken out of the car, however we were left with the impression that the dealership just wanted the profit that leaving this system in the car would bring. As soon to be parents wanting a reliable car, we just couldn't afford anything extra. Negotiating to have it taken out was a headache that we weren't expecting and didn't need. Otherwise, I am happy with our car and can't wait to drive our baby to and from his appointments. I also would recommend the dealership, however just be aware that there are hidden costs that are very difficult to remove.

Trouble shooting flapping noise on driver's side of car

The service was excellent and source of flapping noise was found. I was able to go back to Carmax and have them order the 2 new hubcaps to replace the incorrect ones that were making the noise. I was also glad that Nissan found a gash in the side of my tire and recommended that I replace the tire.

Great Service

I've been going to Autobarn since I bought my car on the sales side. Always had Don take care of my car. He knew me by my first name and knew my car. Some time ago I heard that due to health reason he had to retire. Lucky for me I met Chris and he has filled the void of that trusted service tech who can explain things and ensure that work is done quickly. Many people say that dealer charges higher for service, yes it is a bit higher but at least I don't have to worry about the parts I am getting and if the work is done properly. They tell me what needs to be done and it is my decision to whether to do it or not. If I have a question I just ask Chris and he explains it so I can better understand the service they are recommending.

Poorly ran, scammers/Won't honor their online deal

I bought a slightly used Mitsubishi Outlander from this dealership, after multiple calls, emails and text messages when I showed up they had the wrong car pulled up. I gave them a pre approval from my lander with my offer etc. There were a lot of issues with the transaction, they would not honor the price shown on their website and forced us to pay $800 for some GPS device. There were also scratches on the car with only 800 miles and they tried to touch them up (Terribly) after promising they will fix them. They tried to get us to sign a some blank forms by lying that they just wants to confirm that the have the correct VIN# of the car. I have bought dozens of cars and know that is shady way for dealers to avoid liability for anything. I was in a hurry as I needed a car to start a new job 1000 miles away in 3 days; otherwise I would have not bought the car from them at all. Save your money and do NOT buy anything from these scammers.

Painful

The entire process was painful. The sales person could not answer questions about how the lease financing calculations worked. He kept leaving the room for long periods of time to do what should be available on his computer. The Financing person was super nice but it took FOREVER. Everyone kept saying...15 more minutes. I think the entire process took 5 hours and we did not even need to test drive the car. The most informed person was the guy that showed my daughter the functions of the car. Also, there were no floor mats in the car and they almost let us leave with out them even though we paid for them. Also, the Financing Guy, although he admited he was new to the financing department, when I asked questions about the contracts, he said that he didn;t know because HE NEVER READ THEM and didn't know what they said. There was a lot of trying to brush off questions and rush us through the process when it came time for us to read the document to sign, but they took forever to do anything. Also, the sales person did not tell us about the fee to return the car if we did not lease another car and then it was on the financing statement. When I asked what it was, the financning guy just kept saying it was "standard" and I "should knpw about that". How would I know about that???? So unprofessional. I would have left if I had not spent so much time there already. Not a nice way to operate.

Very very slow

Made appointment a week before for service they recommended. 2 hour job became a 5 hour job because they didn't have the part that was scheduled to be replaced and it had to be delivered from somewhere. I know it sounds silly, but if someone makes an appointment for something you recommend shouldn't you be prepared? Manager lied when he told me the car was on a test drive. I knew he was just buying time, Then the excuse of mechanic working on two cars at once and the didn't have the part. Come on! First car there at 7 am. Easy stuff. Quoted 2 hours. Waited three to call. Ended being 5.
