Excellent service turned into a sale for an additional car

By Charger R/T Guy on 6/24/2019 at 2:29 PM.

My wife and I had our 2016 Jeep Cherokee in for repair to the front suspension. During this process, I started looking at other cars. I didn't really need another car, but, they had one at their North side store that was recommended to me by a salesman by the name of Cody Bronson. I told them I was interested in seeing the vehicle but that I could not make it to the north side location because of my schedule. Cody offered to have the vehicle brought down to the Greenwood store so I could see it. I went in and looked at the vehicle and test drove it. It was an amazing machine. I agreed to purchase the vehicle. The finance manager made the process painless and the management team even worked hard to get me a much lower rate than I was expecting. So, needless to say, I am very happy with the Dodge Charger R/T that I purchased. Cody Bronson is a fine young man. I have purchased many cars from this dealership, and from Cody. I am sure this will not be my last purchase. And by the way, the repairs they made to my wife's Jeep were completed in an timely manner and completed correctly. Thank you to Cody Bronson, Kevin Miller, Scott Miller, and Brian Miller.

I would recommend this dealer.

Well seasoned liars.

By Frustrated101 on 4/28/2019 at 2:06 AM. Helped by Eric Davidson.

My Jeep went dead when the cheap Chinese diodes in the recalled alternator fried the PCM. A trusted mechanic looked at it and diagnosed the alternator issue and the consequentially damaged PCM. He charged the battery disconnected the alternator and watched as the tow driver started it and loaded it onto the flatbed on its way to Tommy O’s house of ripoff. Next call from OBriens and now the starters bad. The service manager went out of his way to tell me how his tech was able to start the Jeep and drive it onto the lift. Perplexed I called the guy who originally looked at it and he assures me that the starter is fine it’s the PCM that been damaged by the alternator. Service manager assured me that it’s the starter and that if it’s not I would not have to pay for it. Manager explained how the starter must have blew when his tech started it to pull it in and that would be 1200 dollars please. I asked about the the PCM and the manager said it was fine and I could pick it up, along with all the bad parts As i requested. As I paid the ransom I noticed the parts had disappeared and per the receipt the PCM had been changed due to “consequential damage” caused by the alternator. I don’t normally reply to surveys or such but I think it’s important for people to know the type of people they are dealing with.

Mopar Express Lane

By Vickiejpat on 3/12/2019 at 8:53 PM. Helped by Paul Neuendorf.

Most of the time you can stop in and get your car serviced very quickly. The price of an oil change is very reasonable. They have a nice Lounge with refreshments, a big screen TV and a fireplace. Needless to say you're very comfortable while you're waiting on your vehicle. But most importantly, the service advisor is always very friendly and helpful.

I would recommend this dealer.

A recall to replace airbags in 2006 Dodge Ram

By Eddie s on 1/16/2019 at 8:11 PM. Helped by I didn't get all the names of the people that I talked to about this matter.

About two weeks ago I came in had two airbags installed in my Dodge Ram it was a recall and when I got the truck back I noticed the airbag light was on showing there was something wrong with airbags. And I was wondering if you replace airbags shouldn't you get a truck back that showing it there's nothing wrong with them. So I called the manager and fine he agree to fix the problem last week and then I called the service manager to get an appointment to bring my truck in and told him that the manager of the store said I could bring it in and the service manager just said no you're going to have to pay the price to put your truck on the machine. No matter what Brian Miller said so I'm selling my truck I was going to buy a brand new one but it won't be from there

Needs better understand

By Derek1440 on 10/28/2018 at 1:59 AM.

I bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler March 28 2018. 3 weeks ago I took to dealership because of noise, they replaced to transmission torque converter clutches and something and oil/transmission pump. This jeep only has 10,580 miles on it. Never been off road. I couldn’t understand while theyjust didn’t t change the whole transmission. Then a week later I brought back saying making a noise and I had oil or transmission on ground. They said the noise was normal but it didn’t do that before and the oil came from the oil change that they did. Then they lost dust cover that Went on transmission. I ask what can they do for me it 7 months 10,000 miles I don’t want because going cause me more problems down the line. What can they do on a trade In Of course They give me low ball offer. I couldnt understand because I’m buyin another jeep and Wrangler don’t lose value I thought they could done more to help out a long time jeep customer. Make a long story short since O’Brien Wouldn’t help to solve problem. I’m seeking legal advice and option. or take a big hit to get another jeep from another jeep dealership thats more understateding.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Failed Customer Service/Communication

By Jeep Owner on 10/18/2018 at 2:50 PM. Helped by Justin Arnold, Sharon Shelton.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, purchased new at and serviced by Tom O'Brien Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, US 31 South, Greenwood IN Vehicle was in for 3 things: Recall Issue, Drivers Side Strut Replacemnet and to have a Body Issue assessed. Advance appointment was made and vehicle was dropped off on specified date first thing in the morning with the understanding it would be ready for pick up by end of business that same day.....it took 3 weeks. The recall issue was addressed and corrected same day as it was a software update. The dealership had to take photos of the body issue and submit to Jeep for approval, was told this process should take 1 to 1-1/2 weeks just for them to hear back from Jeep and they would then need to call and let me know. The strut issue took 3 weeks. From day one it was my responsibility to check the status of the strut repair, customer service being non-existent. It has always been my understanding that part of a Service Advisers duty was to keep the customer informed and up to date on status. Repeated daily phone calls and even a personal visit into the dealership to speak with the Service Manager did nothing to rectify that situation. A simple statement of "we will need a week to make the needed repairs would have sufficed, or at least bought 7 days of understanding on my part, however, it went on this way for 3 weeks. It would erroneous of me to say no calls where made on their behalf as they did make one or two. One even to say "we will be working Saturday to make sure this repair gets finished, something that never happens"....or so I was told. Guess what? It didn't happen, and again no call letting me know one way or another. As to why it took 3 weeks for a strut replacement (that originally should have taken a day) on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I have no idea. I was told a few things in my many, many calls...."your Jeep has a new strut we have never replaced, we don't have the right equipment......"we took it to our other dealerships, no luck"....."our equipment is broken, we are waiting for a a part to repair it"...."we ordered a new spring compressor, let us get it mounted to the wall and give you a call". No matter what it was, there was little to no communication initiated by the dealership, which in turn hurts any future credibility. After this experience I began to look at other reviews and came across quite a few noting this very same issue with lack of communication, bad customer service. Of these, almost all had a response from the G.M. stating to the likes of "this is so unlike us, we will do better"...."we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, please call to discuss further"...."this issue has been resolved" To me, this is an ongoing issue that no one is concerned with, addressing of resolving, which is sad. Customer Service, however basic, is a core value. Figure it out or lose longtime, repeat customers. Interesting note: As of this post, it has been over 2 months and I am still waiting on the call about the body issue.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Buffeting 2004 Grand Cherokee

By CARGUY88 on 9/17/2018 at 7:22 PM. Helped by Sherri Shelton, Justin serv mgr.

We brought our 2004 Grand Cherokee in to remedy an uneasy feeling the chassis transmitted when we woild drive over uneven pavement. Bumps, dips, etc., in roads is creating a feeling like the buffeting felt when traveling behind a semi on the interstate. So, a diagnosis and ~$1700 later (new front track bar, ball joints, and steering damper installed) has produced zero improvement. I do not recommend this service center as they can't diagnose this issue, and so far, won't provide even a partial refund. They're still looking into this, as they now changing the front sway bar.

Great service

By TG & MA on 9/5/2018 at 11:27 PM. Helped by Justin Arnold, service manager, Paul Neuendolf, and Sherry, service writer.

We have been customers of Tom O’Brien Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge in Greenwood, Indiana since moving here in 1990. During that period of time the styles of vehicles sold there have changed, but one constant has been the high quality of service received there. They seem always to strive to make our service experience a good one. On those rare occasions when they fall short of expectations they do all within their ability to make things right. We have remained customers for so many years because the good people at Tom O’Brien work hard to provide us with consistently high quality, competent and friendly service.
