Not a happy customer with used car purchase worth $29000

I purchased a used car with confidence and peace of mind from Tom Wood VW for $29000. I lost both confidence and peace of mind when I found out that the tire tread left on the car was only 5/32” after driving for only 6 weeks (~1000 miles). Based on the Carfax report they showed me, the tires were replaced at 10k miles and the car has 33k miles when I purchased. Which means the tire tread is down to 60% within 20000 miles. One tire had a hole and I had to replace all 4 tires. I contacted the sales team over phone and was told to deal with Bridgestone Tires (thank you for the valuable suggestion!). I would have contacted Bridgestone if Tom Wood provided me with all the documentation from the previous owner. I asked them if they can give me couple of oil changes as compensation for this and the answer is NO as it is not their fault. I find it as your fault because you sold me a car worth $29000 with only 40% of tread life. Beware of add-ons that they sell. The salesmen told me they cannot sell the car without installing Pulse and Xzilon treatment on the car. I should have stepped out without making the purchase, it is my fault. I purchased the car on Saturday and they called me Monday morning saying my car is ready for pickup. They forgot to install Pulse and I wasn’t sure if they did the Xzilon. I had to go back to the dealership couple times to get these two add-ons. How ethical is it for a big dealership to sell Xzilon treatment on the car with scratches? The sales team will never reply to your emails post sale (at least I never got any). The car looked very clean from outside and the seats were cleaned very well. But there is lot of junk and pet hair below the seats. My toddler picked up peanuts and I was glad I stopped him from putting it in his mouth. The car has been with the dealer for almost 2 months and who knows which bacteria grew on it. A simple vacuum cleaner could have pull all that off from the carpet. This tells me how detailed the detailing was done. I gave this feedback to the sales manager and he did not even care for detailing the car. I can keep on writing but it is not worth my time. Just beware and be cautious while buying a car from this place.

New car purchase

The Tom Wood group worked as a team to get me the vehicle I wanted at the right price. Everyone was nice and the dealership was spotlessly clean.

Great experience and service

It started off well as I came in and was immediately greeted by John who grabbed the door for me. John asked what I was there for and the rest was history. I highly recommend this dealership and working with John Pittman as he was attentive and listened to what I was looking for and didn't try anything outside of making the deal work for me. Honestly, it was the best and easiest experience with a car dealership ever.

Love our new vehicle, unimpressed with staff

Impressed with the vehicle we purchased and the price. Not happy with the amount of time it took to go through the car buying process. Our salesman was very slow and kept disappearing when we needed him. Nobody seemed to know how to answer questions and had to ask 3-4 others to give us an answer. I would recommend buying from this dealer, but make sure you have 5+ hours to spend at the dealership.

VW Alltrack - Great Service

Unfriendly person

Unfriendly personnel Brian Harrell or jack He asked me did you have the light on in the car I answer him yes And I say it is not hold more then 25 p So he say do you here any thing from the tire I answer him yes Then he asked me what was it I didn’t like his question and I say you should know by now I left him then I talked my best sales person in Tom wood VW his name is Rob Pucci He is the one take me to show me what was in the tire Brian Harrell Never offere me to see it Any way he was around me and Rob And told me to fix this will be $140 I say no I will take the tire and fix 25 min I left I fix it then back The I meet the service person his name is Shawn Todd Very nice and he complet the job

Treated Me Like Family.

The title of my review really says it all, but here’s the details... I hadn’t expected to walk out of the dealership with a vehicle, because of limited credit history. The Tiguan I had come to see was very fresh in their inventory and hadn’t even had the chance to be detailed yet, but they let me take it for a test drive anyway. I explained what my financial needs were, and Greg went to his finance manager and worked some magic. They gave me WAY more than a fair trade in value for my sad little car, just to help me get the deal done. All of the staff I interacted with while I was there were friendly, and the showroom was immaculately clean. Greg and Adam truly made me feel like they cared. By the time I left that evening, I walked away with a payment BELOW what I wanted to spend and a beautiful CPO Tiguan with a lifetime powertrain warranty, which was above and beyond what I could’ve imagined I’d be able to afford. I even gave the finance manager and my salesman a hug! I’ve had the vehicle for about three and a half months now and have had absolutely no issues. Great service, great people, and a great vehicle all added up to the perfect buying experience. Thanks guys!

Fantastic Service

I came into Tom Wood skeptical about buying a new car. I left a devoted Volkswagen customer, and in a new vehicle. John Pittman is one of the best salesman I’ve ever come into contact with. He is honest, clear, and genuine, which is very difficult to find especially in the car industry. At no time did he come off as pushy or intimidating, he simply offered support through the whole process. He worked so hard to make sure I was happy with my purchase, and he even sent me personalized videos throughout the car buying process to update me on things I needed to know! I would 100% recommend him to anyone buying a vehicle.

Saved me after dead battery

Found a dead battery as I left work. Got a jump from a friend and showed up at Tom Wood VW 20 minutes before their service department closed. I left the car and they provided me transportation in 15 minutes! The next morning I had my car back by 11 AM with a fresh battery. Very impressed by the fast & friendly service. Thanks Tom Wood VW! You saved me in a time of need.

Excellent Service Appointment

Took my 2018 Passat in after hearing a mysterious rattle for a few weeks. My advisor Jack, explained that he would make sure my car was in the hands of his most experienced techs and that any issues would be diagnosed thoroughly and cared for immediately. Jack was upbeat, friendly (at 8a!!!) and committed to taking care of the problem which eased my anxiety from the start . After a short wait he returned and explained the issue, missed screws in the fender at the factory! Thanks to the keen eyes of the service staff - I was on my way, still loving my new GT. Beware Of Unwanted Add-Ons!

I bought a "Certified Pre Owned" Volkswagen from this dealership which had warped & grooved brake rotors. Needless to say, the vehicle did not qualify to be sold as Certified Pre Owned per Volkswagen's specs. The service department reluctantly replaced them but it caused me to miss 2 days of work waiting for the work to get done. Upon reviewing my financing paperwork, I noticed that over $2,800.00 worth of warranties, key replacement etc had been added to my deal above & beyond the agreed upon sale price. Yes, I should have caught it when I signed my paperwork, but for some reason I trusted these guys. Mistake. Commission scam? The General Manager, Antonio Fisher, told me that the finance guy, Jeff Bragg, added the warranties to my deal. Jeff Bragg told me that my salesman, Robert Pucci, added the warranties to my deal. Regardless of who did it, it wasn't ME. I believe it was a team effort. I was never asked if I wanted the warranties. I never requested the warranties. Everyone here lied to me. When I asked Jeff Bragg to cancel the warranties, he responded with rude, childish emails which I forwarded to Volkwagen Customer Care. Volkswagen Customer Care promptly resolved my issue & got my money refunded to the principal balance on my loan. I posted all of the emails and screen shots of the texts to my Facebook, Twitter & YouTube pages. Fortunately, an attorney who follows me on social media saw my posts and offered to help me for free. Volkswagen Customer Care still contacts me at least once a month checking up on this situation. This is not a Volkswagen problem, it is a dealership problem. Volkswagen are great people & they DO care. Regardless, I have had my vehicle serviced at Andy Mohr Volkswagen in Avon & recently had a recall performed at Falcone Volkwagen in Indianapolis. Both of those dealerships treated me great and appreciated my business. I highly recommend them both over Tom Wood Volkswagen. I will never purchase another vehicle from ANY Tom Wood Dealership due to this experience. I even cancelled my Allstate Home Owners policy and 2 automobile policies which I had with Wood Insurance Group. I don't want any affiliation with the Tom Wood brand ever again. I even had their name removed from the back of my car. I wish I had purchased this car from Falcone Volkswagen or Andy Mohr Volkswagen. This was the worst car buying experience of my life.

I’ve always use this dealership for service of my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta because I had Always Hey I had an awesome experience with the service department I thought I would give their sales team a try . I’m happy to report that the sales team and my new friend John Pittman are just as awesome as their service department. He helped me fall in love with My new 2018 Passat GT . He was able to answer all of my questions and show me the ropes of this great vehicle . Great sales team and finance team! Very happy with my new purchase !!!

Car was not ready when I Picked up after call it was ready

Very very disappointed once again the car needs where not completed as stated by the service manager who called and said it was ready for pick up Car was not vacuumed after being serviced and the lot guy apologized before handing me keys that he forgot to clean it up. They could not find my keys when I came to pick up again truly dissspointing experience with the service department once again.
